New models arrive to the US in August, starting with the S9i Sport and P10e. Want one of your own? Message us through our site, or here on bsky.
As always, Tern prioritized safety and stability. The HSD has a longer wheelbase, lower stepover height, and higher overall capacity of over 400 pounds. Bosch batteries and motors are UL certified, with the frame and rack capacities ISO certified.
The new HSD adds several Bosch security features, along with a lighter and more powerful motor. GPS tracking and post-theft protections can be controlled within the Bosch app.
Additionally, the TRP EASI derailleur is also electronically shifted, with available auto-shift mode. This system is optimized for high torque shifts under load and is directly powered by the Bosch battery.
This biggest changes in the lineup come with the addition of e-shifting. The 3x3 (say 3 by 3) 9 speed hub is a workhorse hub paired with the familiar Gates belt drive. This hub is electronically shifted and provides wide steps between gears, making it a perfect pairing with e-assist.
We're taking a long weekend and closing the 4th and 5th. Come see us before then if you're planning on biking anywhere festive. We'll reopen regular hours on the 6th.
Some of the 300+ people who showed up today to show support for one of the best pieces of bike infrastructure in DC. They shouted in megaphones, honked horns, rang bells, and called out from both front and rear seats of cargo bikes, with voices in all registers. This isn't over.
Tern's flagship GSD R14 arrived in port in exceptionally limited stock. Want to reserve one? Let us know before Monday. www.ternbicycles.com/us/bikes/473...
Those snowbanks aren't the only thing melting this week. Serious discounts on select remaining prior-year stock:
A reminder that we're closed for the snow today. If you can manage to drag in your bike to us on Tuesday, we'll be offering the same snow special below.
And along with their all new GSD, Tern has also dropped some new accessories, including the Sun Shield and Rain Shield. Designed with portability in mind, these new accessories expand utility and comfort for passengers in all weather conditions.
Our Tern riders are constantly on the move. Because of this, we think that the inclusion of an onboard USB-C charging port is going to be a big hit. Think of the additional lights and accessories that could be added, as well as device charging.
On two of the new models the addition of ABS, and a much larger brake disc, ensures safe, confident stopping in all conditions.
The new kickstand integrates the already popular extensions and adds a cover to protect the latch mechanism.
Tern listens to their customers, their dealers, and the mechanics that work on their bikes. So, while a seatpost and kickstand aren't the most exciting parts to talk about, they took feedback and made improvements. The seatpost has oversized thumb and finger tabs for easy opening and adjustment.
Our most popular bike of 2024 returns to stock this weekend, in favorite color Beetle Blue. If you had been waiting on a Tern GSD S00, now is your time! Message us here or in the shop about a test ride.
We recently welcomed Specialized to our shop as a new brand. Looking forward to new models and updates in 2025 from their line of conventional and electric bikes. thedailyriderdc.com/brand-introd...
