I am deeply concerned by the precedent that putting a warning label on any LGBTQ content would set.

I grew up in the '90s, during a period where LGTBQ+ content and people were mocked, closeted, and generally not accepted by society at large. I watched people treat them with fear and contempt, even hatred and violence.

I was even swept up in this anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment, largely pushed by my church. It cost me friendships, and the respect of my peers. My teenage years, and their anti-LGBTQ+ tint, remain one of my deepest shames. I was a worse person for believing the lies and misinformation prevalent about the LGBTQ+ community then.

I am afraid that putting content warnings on LGBTQ+ content will drag us backwards, towards that violent and shameful time, through the processes of othering and dehumanization. By setting normal people up as something to be afraid of, I know that people will use the excuse to carry out their prejudices.

Speaking as someone who is now part of the LGBTQ+ community, I do not want to go back. The person I am today does not want to meet the person I was 20 years ago, and I know that the progress we have made is tenuous at best.

To the common refrain, "how will I explain that to my children?," I have one response: That's your job to figure out, not mine. Structuring society around parents who are unwilling to engage with their children's curiosity is a true failing, and it is not the FCC's job to enact a nanny state simply to coddle those lazy parents.

I urge you to reject any attempts to add warnings or any kind of censorship to LGBTQ+ content. We're better than that.

Read (and reblogged) a post on Tumblr that broke down Political Math: www.tumblr.com/theinstagrah... Making a phone call or sending a personal email may not feel like much, but it's not nothing. They assume for every one call, there are at least 99 they're not getting. Make that call.

One phone call = 100-1,000 angry voters.

One personal email = 10-50 voters.

One form letter = maybe 1 voter, if they even count it.

This is the economy of political pressure. Individualized contact influences 94% of congressional offices on undecided issues. Mass email campaigns? 18%. Petitions? Worthless.

But here's the secret that changes everything: State officials are sitting ducks.

State Comptrollers generally receive 5-10 constituent calls per month. State Treasurers? Many have never experienced a coordinated campaign. District Attorneys? Only hear from victims and lawyers, not voters. State Legislators? They average 20-30 contacts per week.

The magic happens at these thresholds:

10 calls in an hour = staff notices.

50 calls in a day = emergency meeting.

100 calls in a day = office shuts down to handle it.

500 calls in a week = policy change consideration.

1,000 calls = historical precedent shows this forces action.

Some friends and I were just talking about how JD Vance always wears pants that are too short. He has wealth and power. He can afford to get pants that fit. He can afford people to help him look good. He chooses this. He (allegedly) gets really bent out of shape when people point it out.

Honestly, don't read the article. Or any of the articles. As much as it feels like the @nytimes.com is trying to defend a Billionaire's actions, it feels more like they're trying to cash in on the outrage people feel about his actions. They seem to think every social media platform is Twitter.

The Road to Waverly Flats reveals itself. There is no way to leave, once you're in town. All roads lead back to Route 4 and 13, and Route 4 and 13 always leads back to Waverly Flats.

Now live: Restful Actions, a collection of 10 minigames for downtime periods in any TTRPG. They're designed to help players resolve character conflicts, complete goals, heal or explore, and take much shorter shopping trips (You can download the shopping trip minigame as a demo!)

There are probably too many words in the rules to fit here. But the gist is:
1. Work with the party to make a shopping list and gather funds (depending on how your system works).
2. Send 2 players to the shops. For each item on the list, ask them to invent a shop, shopkeeper, and characterize the interaction.
3. Ask each player to name small, non-plot-related item they noticed during the shopping. Something their character wants, but did not buy.
4. Ask the other player whether they picked it up as a gift for their companion.
