Knitter, writer, queer, fat, PNWer, Episcopalian, agender, funnier than you'd think 🧶🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ (and if I unfollow you it's a me problem, not a you problem)
First time donating blood since getting my diabetes diagnosis, so no juice and cookies for me, but somehow it still feels special. ☺️ 🩸
I just had dinner with my brother to talk about my book & publishing company, and it started with: Me: I know in our family we don't talk about things until we've already done them, because we won't get support just questions and doubt otherwise, but-- Him: We're officially breaking the cycle then
Yeah, I read a few books and did a massive ton of knitting, but also I accidentally wrote 6k words of a filthy novella that will be published with haste under a very pseudo pseudonym. Just me workin some stuff out, you know. Anyway, camping is awesome, the end.
It feels appropriate to pack only a certain type of book for my device-less days in the Canadian woods.
Taffy is helping me work from home, because by home I mean bed #catscatscats
Hey I haven't posted any knitting here for a minute, but I've been plunking along on a scrap yarn quilt, size 1 needles with sock yarn. It's a riot and I love it actually. 😍 🧶 (pattern: ravel.me/the-coziest-...)
I printed out bk1 to go old-school on it and it is BOOK-SHAPED and darling and I am SO DANG PROUD of it and me.
15 minutes in and out for my mammogram, no copay, pleasant place that felt more like a spa than a doctor's office, 10/10. Idk if people w/ average sized breasts get the red marks, but mine looked like a weird bikini sunburn today.
Even this picture I took of my parents' #cat yesterday isn't helping my mood. Which is just wrong.
The latest SLU mural. I'm... not sure how I feel about it yet. Gimme a minute and some coffee.
OK if the rest of the book is this up my street I might die 😂😂😂 a SHOWER of CURATES
Taffy is halping me work from home. My dad's having major surgery today, so I'll take all the cuddles she's got. #catscatscats
Day 7 of Momcation: Ketchikan for approximately five minutes, (incl early morning lumberjacks), a mani-pedi, then just scootin along the water, knitting and enjoying the cold calm.
Day 6 of Momcation: Sitka was quirky. Cutest little Episcopal Church I ever did see. Lots of totems. Perfect weather for this dynamic duo. 10/10 would visit again
Day 5 of Momcation involved seeing a glacier (on the very right) and trying not to burst into tears at our destruction of this beauty. I'm going to close the curtains and knit for a while, and try not to think.
Day 4 of Momcation started at 3:12am with a nightmare, so that's cool. Anyway. It's already going by too fast, despite that.
Day 3 of Momcation - I kind of forgot I was on a cruise until I woke up this morning and we're legit rollin. We are to be on open water all day, though Canada isn't far. Yo ho yo ho etc etc
Ended up spending most of the day winding yarn for socks. As one does. 🧶 🫠 (I did not write down the fancy yarn's name before winding the labels into the cakes, sorryyyy. The yellow is leftover Knitpicks Stroll. Pattern TBD.)
Just #knitting on a scrap-yarn blanket in the sunshine while my car gets an LOF. The music is as awful as the coffee but I'm content anyways. 🧶 🚙 ☕
Sorry fam, I am apparently not getting anything else done today. #caturday
How is it that these photos were taken a moment apart but have such different vibes. Like, no murder then murder. #cats
