It’s IWK 250 weekend at Riverside and the sportsman have started with the action. And I’m watching at home. I’ll be at the track tomorrow afternoon. It’s on FloRacing sports so go tune in to watch.
Evacuation alert issued for the wildland fire in Mooseland area.
The turtle crossed the road at the Shubenacadie wildlife park. I will also have a story talking about turtles coming soon on the Laker news website. 
Announcement for the four new Airbus helicopters is underway. Each have been named. The cost is $12.6 million and purchased as part of federal-provincial agreement in wildfire equipment and training. Each level of government contributed that amount. Story coming soon to the Laker news website.

Monday July 13, 2026: No burn for Halifax, Lunenburg, Queens, Hants, Kings, and Annapolis Counties due to extreme fire index. Burn after 7 pm for the rest of Nova Scotia. Be sure to check municipal bylaws!
Back at it. It might’ve only been two laps, but it was two more laps than I did last Thursday. Going to work myself back to my 4-7 lap routine, but it’s gonna take some time.
I’m home. Thank you all for the support in the messages they made this scary situation for me a little easier to deal with. Now I have some answers and I don’t have some answers so we’re going to work on things and I have some new medication to go on and some changes forthcoming for life/work.
Bags packed. Waiting for my chariot (ambulance). Ready for unknown to me at the die test in Halifax at some point today. Nervous yes. Scared yes. Spirits up there because of my friends yes. But ready to get some answers so we know what the road ahead looks like. 
Got so excited when I saw this package brought to my hospital bed. Thought it was apple sauce nope apple juice darn it.

Phishing/scam text I got from Service Canada. There is a few red flags on this. It doesn’t include the account number or your name so how would they know who it’s going to; the website address and service Canada does not send out emails or text messages like this. So just be aware of folks.

Well, isn’t that a great email to wake up to. I have been nominated in the People’s Choice Award category for the chambers business excellence awards this year. Public Voting starts July 20 and will go until July 31, and then the top three will be the finalist for the category.
