For #ArtRepostJuly #bone theme I submit the work of my favorite gravestone carver John Homer (1727-1803) who is well known for his unique realistic skull and crossbones. You can find his work in the Boston and Portsmouth NH areas.

The Sparkle Barn remains the most chaotically #colorful place I've ever been. Here's an Alice in Wonderland styled play center in the Barn's attic. SO MUCH WHIMSY. #ArtRepostJuly #Vermont

The top level of a New England barn is COVERED from floor to ceiling in brightly colored fake flowers (heavily favoring the pinks!) A flower chandelier hangs from the center, a green shag carpet is layered with more floral rugs, 1960's styled art chairs line one side, some tables and hiding nooks line the other.

I ended up in Gettysburg with a huge Civil War buff. We were just driving through. We stopped to eat and hoped to visit the cemetery afterward but this crazy rain storm came over and we figured we wouldn't be able to make it. But then it stopped and this rainbow led us to the cemetery... #Above

Don't let the rain keep you from the outdoors. The forest takes on a whole new personality when it's wet. Today's adventures:

A mushroom trying to be a flower. The beige cap is flayed outward like petals with a darker center and lots of bumps.

The rain on some oak leaves makes them wet and shiny.

The bank of a river has lots of rocks, trees growing up through them, and moss everywhere. Very green!

My submission for #ArtRepostJuly #dry are these photos I took while on a risky lone trek into the desert. It was dumb but man did I NEED that walk that day. Most peaceful I've ever felt in my life.

For my #ArtRepostJuly #wing I am sharing this Death's Head. Death's Heads were a common symbol found on the slate and limestone gravestones throughout Puritan New England starting in the 1600s. They're thought to represent the fleeting nature of life and the soul’s flight after death.

Yesss, I love going to quirky and weird roadside attractions. They're just a lot of fun. Here's Worcester MA's scandalous Turtle Boy statue, causing division among the city for over 100 years! 😂

A bronze statue, turned green from age, depicts a beautiful nude boy, slightly smiling, riding a sea turtle whose expression is not one of consent. Depending on your level of innocence "riding" can be taken in two different ways and absolutely is.

Stumbled into a farmer's market selling these beauties. #flowers

Poked around the Smith Castle (which just looks like a house to me..) Kinda love the bench in the garden. Very inviting.
