paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· 1d Mamma and the girls, so sweet. We lost our mamma but still have our warrior grrl.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· 14d New work: ETHOS: 60x54 unstretched.
A back to the future project that has me revisiting an earlier vibe.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jul 15 Bought my veg at the farm market over the weekend. So far so good.
Until my next crop of greens come in all purchases will be from small local growers.
Also upping my kitchen sprout growing operation.
Photo. Our greenhouse being built onto the back of my old studio. Not messing around. #veggies

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jul 10 CHANNELING HAPPINESS. Finished. 40x60 unstretched. Mixed media, collage. The last piece on the wall. Starting new things. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jul 2 Elegy For Everything. Another finished painting. 30x42. Mixed media, collage. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jun 26 When The World Is Perfect. New canvases in the works. Two shows coming up in the fall, just now wrapping my head around some of the small pieces. This one 40x30 unstretched. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jun 22 There is no greater propaganda machine than the US food industry. Health organizations funded by the very industries that cause the diseases that these same organizations claim to be combating.
This all under the umbrella of the USDA and government agencies.
Rewatched this gem today. Worth a look.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jun 13 Attended an opening reception last night. A nice surprise, two of my graffiti paintings are hanging in the downstairs lobby. Beacon Free and Sleepwalker. #art #abstractart

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Jun 2 Having future shows in my periphery I have been working out a few somewhat cohesive thought lines.
Finished this yesterday. COGNITO. Mixed media collage. 44x72. Not usually a fan of the horizontal. But it is what it is. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· May 16 These canvases have been stapled to the wall for a few days. Small studies. Oil, ink and graphite on canvas.
CITADEL. The human type. We are our own last refuge, or own stronghold. Human citadels. Autonomous and legion all at the same time. We just need to own it. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· May 12 Once the paint comes out it’s hard to capture the texture with a picture. These are some small pieces with the first pass of texture, collaged fabric and paper. Before the sander comes out. A good two days to dry completely. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· May 9 Finally got my groove back. New work in the house. Firefly. VERITAS LOQUITUR, new series. The truth speaks for itself. 44x32. Small paintings like this are on stretched canvas with a textured ground. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 16 This is Beanie The Magic Cat, he was my sweet special boy.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 15 This is Henry. He built himself a tent out of packing paper. He guarded it with his life.
Also, I don’t think you can own a cat, they are the boss, always.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 8 I was skeptical about a prequel to Mystery Road. The original show and the films with Aaron Pedersen were good.
I can now say that the first season of MR Origin was as good as the first season of Mystery Road.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 4 It’s #caturday and here’s a snapshot of Ruben with his arm around his sister Lil’ P. This is a rare, likely one time only event that needed documentation. Lil’P does not like to share her space.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 4 I staple the raw canvas to the wall and prime them before painting. Paint never cracks. If it did it (oil) would be due to applying thinned out paint over heavy paint that hasn’t dried. Something that can happen whether it’s been stretched or not.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 3 I’ve been going through my inventory of finished works. Today I repainted this entire canvas. Using none of the under painting, which is rare for me. Oil on canvas 54x54 #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Apr 3 Dropped this off at the gallery two weeks ago and they sold it on Monday. Breakers. 36x44 oil on canvas. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 29 Another panting in the loosely titled Tether Series. As yet unstretched. The work continues. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 28 Finally got back to This series I started last month. Small pieces so far, studies. But going big today. #art #painting abstraction, figurative.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 18 Working on a few quickies. Impromptu oil on panel 12x12 each. A fun way to get out of my head and use up some of the boards I have stored away. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 18 When my paint wall in the studio was new. Early days. 2019. #art

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 14 Starting some new paintings in gray tones so, revisiting images of some older works. From around 2012 thru 2018. Oil and cold wax. #art
This piece 20x20 if I remember correctly.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Mar 2 Day three on these paintings. Building thin layers. Oil on canvas. All need an extra day of dry time. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Feb 28 Such a nice day. Windows open, fresh paint in the air. Wearing all the hats. #art #painting Stretching these guys from last year.
We must not lose hope. The most powerful thing is to be who we are and do what we do. Be resilient, be kind and be ferocious for peace, justice and love.

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Feb 21 Back at the vets again with Jaco today. Still there. Urinary blockage. Spasms not crystals. A couple of possible solutions. One is medication the other is surgery. They will likely keep him over the weekend. Nothing worse than a sick fur baby. #cats

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Feb 17 I’ve started working on some textured minimalist pieces. This, Fountain of Youth, is one of the last pieces I painted before diving into my Animal Farm series of graffiti style collages. Size 69x60. #art #painting

paintergrrl@thepaintergrrl· Feb 16 No Mas: from late 2024. 64x72 collage, mixed media.
The feeling has not changed.
