I’m printing the last of this edition and will have them at St. Johns Bizarre on May 9. These are printed using 2 blocks - one in white ink (the floral pattern in the wash) and one in black (heron). I do a watercolor wash over the oil-based ink which acts as a subtle resist.
Indivisible's volunteer graphics person: AI, surround the speakers with really patriotic frogs and have people holding up their phones as if they're really into what they're watching. AI: Ok! Is what they're watching what's also right in front of them? Volunteer graphics person: Nah.
Wetland friends in the sketchbook for dry media that I insist on torturing with wet stuff.
The forest critters are gathering. They're done with grief and heaviness. They've been collecting matches and sharpening sticks, but they're also restoring marshes and tearing down dams. WIP, but thought I'd post it for NYE. Stay safe, you are needed.
Definitely aware they were being watched. They had A CHILD with them, the fucks. This is the truck they rolled up in.
Lecare pharmacy in NE Portland has Novavax if you’ve been waiting for it. Cute cat for visibility.
I really wanted to finish a #birdwhisperer drawing this month but I only got as far as the sketch.
Trying more paint in the sketchbook. Retreating to the more graphic style I’m comfortable with so I can focus on getting a handle on the materials and using some color. I still did too much. At the same time, not enough.
Must emphasize that I’m not a painter and I haven’t played with materials in years, but I want to loosen up & also figure out how to use color better. I stick to very graphic b&w forms mostly and am trying to break free! Posting for daily-ish accountability to self, lol, lmao.
I was looking up as I passed these trees on an evening walk yesterday because I often see bats on this stretch at dusk. I think these are awesome in the literal sense. I'm pretty sure this is a bald-faced hornet's nest. They have a bad reputation but will leave you alone if you're not a threat.
Posting a slightly adjusted version of my new logo to see how it looks on different platforms. If anything seems unbalanced I'm still fussing with it.
I have a tentative logo and banner thing for my new business name! I've not made any formal announcements, and I'm rolling through this transition slowly. My website is still Tiger Food Press, until further notice, if you need to find me.
I should take more progress photos and start showing what I’m working on, I’m just way out of the habit. So here’s some stuff: screen printed napkins and table runners!
This feels wildly out of touch and ignorant of what’s actually going down on the ground. newrepublic.com/article/1963...
