Mona had a good visit with the groomer and was only a little bit ornery this time. She’s feeling cooler, prettier, and hopes you have a good day too. #DogSky
This morning, Mona goes to the groomers, but it’s also market day, so we came downtown early, are having breakfast at our favorite cafe, and then we’ll take her for her toiletterie.
Today in the garden, a tale of two cucumbers, a butternut squash with a jaunty flower hat, and competing zucchinis.
I sure hope so! 🧑🍳 Their food was phenomenal, their waitstaff was impeccable, and everything was done with flair and love. The building itself was just gorgeous with an enormous grand staircase in the center of the dining room.
Our first okra pod was ready to pick, and there’s another that will be ready in a day or so! I bought some vegan spicy sausages to be my fake andouille (best I can get here), and all the other ingredients are ready for me to make some Louisiana gumbo! Wahoo! I cannot wait!
Skirting the line between vigilant and vigilante, Mona alternates between cuddling up against me here in the basement and barking in patrolling circles at the thunder and rain outside (FINALLY). Life is hard for a short dog.
Hello. My name is John and I’m looking to purchase your house in a couple weeks if possible. You killed my mother in the process of making this song for you. Prepare to cry in my face.
We’re in the basement, retreating from the heat, and watching the Tour de France. Though it’s an exciting stage, Mona is not impressed.
I did not get a photo before it was cut up and 3/4 of it was eaten, but it was delicious. The eggs cooked perfectly, and the hint of Dijon mustard gave it a savory subtle piquant flavor that was just 🧑🍳💋👌
Post a random picture or else everything will go tits up in July
We had our first of many shenanigans in the new car today. Drove to the local lake and walked around it with the momma and the Mona. Success!
Maiden voyage of Sweet Pea! Nothing’s gonna stop us now!
The momma anticipating freedom and adventure with our new Fiat Topolino.
Meet our newest member of the family, “Sweet Pea.” We pick her up on Thursday after they remove the stickers and clean the car.
My neighbor came over when she arrived home. She wasn’t upset with me. “We cannot control the weather,” she said. Her gray hen is still okay, though, and once the heatwave passes, she plans to get another hen so it has a companion. ❤️ Meanwhile, Mona loves the basement air conditioning. 😍
Mona was insulted that I’m posting about chickens (“They don’t even go here.”), so she’s now flopped on the basement floor beneath my desk, napping and ignoring me completely.
Their favorite water dish was empty again this morning. They were very happy to see the Water Lady.
I did it! I moved the sofa from mom’s room into the living room. Whew.
Our neighbor has two hens, and she messaged me yesterday. She had to go out of town, and she won’t be able to return until Friday, so she asked me to check on her chickens to make sure they have enough food and water until she is back. So, chicken duty it is. 😊 -
This morning, because I’m feeling stir crazy from being indoors all the time, I decided to move one of our living room loveseats down to my office in the basement. Might have been smarter if I’d disassembled it before I got it stuck on the stairs. But BEHOLD THE COMFY HAS ARRIVED.
Ready for our night out. Mona is ready for her night as well. She’s going to be napping in front of the a/c, listening to Enya. Hopefully, she won’t be mad at us while we’re gone.
My favorite girls hanging out in the cool basement to beat the summer heat.
The IKEA delivery was extremely mundane, aside from a stuffed hedgehog for Mona. She approves of this offering.
