All of them are great designs, but these two are my favorite! The one on the left feels straight out of the 80s comics, whereas I could see the one on the right as her look for a red carpet event.

While there may not have been as big and shocking of developments as Chapters 3 & 4, I do think we actually got a fair bit of main plot/character development. Alt text for spoilers.

- Developing the relationship dynamics between Susie, Kris and Noelle, culminating with Susie stating that she wants to tell Noelle about the dark worlds

- Kris' involvement with the creation of dark fountains being acknowledged by other characters

- Asgore having researched the dark world because he felt guilty for some past incident (probably whatever happened to Dess), which also shows that other light world characters may be aware of the dark world

- the reveal that Susie has apparently been living in the dark world full time

- Susie getting her hands on Asgore's code for the bunker

- Rudy's condition worsensing

- Ralsei's dialogue and his use of fire magic showing that not only does he still know more than he's been letting on, but that he's capable of much more than we've seen

Like, I get what you mean in the strict terms that there was no involvement from the Roaring Knight, after two chapters where that was like, a major thing. And I definitely feel that this chapter is meant to be a set up, not a spike. But to say that the 'A plot' wasn't developed at all just doesn't feel true to me. I'd put it at around the same level as Chapter 2 in that regard; its focus is on developing the light world character's relationships and building tension for the finale.

If the intent was to give her an unrealistic skin tone, they should have gone with something like pink or blue, that couldn't be mistaken as fantastic. But I think it's more likely that the design direction was to desaturate ALL colors as a rule, and they either didn't realize or didn't care how that decision affected darker skin tones 🤷

I love that they've been getting some shout-outs in new D&D media. This art is from the 2024 Player's Handbook, and they also had a cameo in Honor Among Thieves!
