I create monsters. Then I fly them. Sometimes they survive. You can watch all that shenanigans on I'm also available here: @ShadowZone@mastodon.social
Congrats, climate change deniers. It's the hottest it's ever been in my home town since 1775.
My brain isn't really working at these temperatures. Which is one of the reasons why there is no new video today. Apologies.
Here's @mattlowne.bsky.social with a very sensible take on Starship Flight 2. The replies are to be expected from the sycophantic cess pool that former Twitter has become. It really annoys me that almost all space creators still keep posting over there despite knowing how terrible the platform is.
A sneak peek into this week's upcoming video. You'll never guess what it is about. Tune in on Friday!
I cannot articulate enough how much I hate YouTube's auto-translation features! First off: my language is set to English, so WHY?!?. Second: translating band names (Angine de Poitrine) proves your "AI" is anything but intelligent. Are the "Rolling Stones" now the "rollende Steine" in German?
I love the pictures from Artemis II, but NASA's image website is incredibly bad for filtering down to just the current images from the Moon. And the Artemis II album doesn't include all imaged. Really frustrating to navigate this! images.nasa.gov
If you enjoy open source software, make sure you support them with more than just likes on a social media site.
Mission control actually responded with "Amaze, Amaze, Amaze!" 🤣 I love this mission.
Or you can follow the real time tracking on NASA's website. It is very cool: www.nasa.gov/missions/art...
Is it just me or was the general public's reaction to Artemis II launching more like shrugged shoulders than actual excitement? I slept when it launched (time zones). Now, roughly 6 hours later, the story is barely above the fold on most news websites. Thoughts on why?
I receive multiple sponsorship offers a week, which I never react to, because... ugh... that would be an entire video, honestly. But this has to be either the lowest effort scam attempt or the lowest effort sponsorship attempt ever. Sad part: some real companies behave similarly lazy.
Ah well, here we go again! Replacing Ubuntu with CachyOS on my main PC.
Compared to the other gas planets in OPM, Neidon felt a bit empty, celestial body wise. But Thatmo with the right mods is just eerily beautiful.
No, seriously, in less than an hour, I had a functioning OS and most apps that I need installed. And now that I know the package names for the apps I want, I can write a simple script that just installs all of them in one go should I want to switch my main PC to CachyOS. And KSP runs of course 😜
The boys and I had a blast. Thanks for dropping by in our neck of the woods, Colonel!
Waiting for @cmdr-hadfield.bsky.social's show to start. Already met a couple of space community buddies in the crowd!
So much for checking in with my Patreon supporters to see what's up. Any of you here?
Sun's coming out while the robotic vehicle continues safing the booster. All mission objectives completed. Blue Origin can be proud of themselves.
Robo crew checking if everything is okay. No humans aboard the Jacklyn, of course.
Both Escapade satellites have successfully deployed! Expect some great science in a couple of years from them!
In a little more than 15 minutes the two Escapade satellites will deploy.
AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!! Massive congratulations to the Blue Origin team. Second flight, stuck the landing.
