On The FBI (1965-74), it was always a mistake to shoot at Inspector Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.). Here, after being shot at, Erskine returns fire. He wounds a suspect who is hiding behind a side of beef. While right-handed, Erskine could shoot accurately with either hand.
In 1985, Dick Locher, artist on the Dick Tracy comic strip, memorialized Chester Gould (1900-85). This illustration doubled for the strip and an editorial cartoon in the Chicago Tribune.
