Assistant groundskeeper at the Terrier Tribe. Scooping and bagging a specialty. Voting since 1972; I've never voted for a Republican. Grew up in a Teamster household, still grateful. Rule 1: Look where you step, step where you look.
A banner day of sorts. I guess I need to share the guess distribution with my friends who read horror books.
Haven't even tried this in a while. First two words were pangrams. Stare at the flower and you'll see them.
I didn't know I knew so many words with Z in them.
Like this? Note that I got the 0 rating for choosing the wrong word from the 6 choices.
As usual, genius level was on my own but getting the Queen required I consult the grid.
Got to genius in about 40 minutes on my own, but getting the Queen required looking at the grid. NB: there can't be a sailor on the NYT spelling bee team because it rejected "gunnel" no matter how colorfully I swore as I typed it.
Probably need to get a hobby. Got to genius in about 30 minutes on my own, but admit to looking at the grid to get the Queen. Why wasn't DALEK on today's word list?
AHA! I turned off hard mode and had the bot solve it again. This time...
I turned on hard mode in the settings and here's how my bot solved #1749 (April 3, 2026). If you don't have hard mode turned on, did your bot solve it the same way?
Here is me vs the bot today, #1475.
Got to Genius in the waiting room at the vet's this afternoon. 13-year-old dog suddenly having trouble with stairs, furniture. X-rays and bloodwork indicate probable back (muscle) sprain, likely from the lunges she did while out on a walk. Given mild pain meds and advised to rest. The dog, not me.
Got one today, with a little help from the grid.
Been a while since I managed this. Got to genius on my own but then needed the grid to get the last couple of words.
At least something went reasonably well today.
Neighbor asked me why I was shoveling. "Snowblower is in the shop." 10 minutes later he was this guy.
Weird. When I checked the bot, it got 4. I didn't realize it played anew for each person who checked it.
Got to genius in about 20 minutes entirely on my own, but confess that to get the last few words out of the Queen I looked at the grid. I should probably play more often.
Getting dull in my dotage. Got to genius level on my own but needed the grid to get the Queen.
I'm quite sure that I don't know how this happened. I wasn't really paying that much attention.
I've got to get something approaching a real life. I hit genius level on my own, but the grid helped find the queen. Not doing this tomorrow. Really, I'm not.
For so few words (just 23!), this was unexpectedly tough. I got to genius level without the grid or the hints, but I had to use the grid to get all the way.
Getting to genius seemed straightforward, but then getting the rest took a couple of hours (including breaks). Not that many words in there but my brain just didn't care to find them.
Okay, now I'm just getting pushy, but 25 minutes, no grid, no hints, 2 pangrams, and I'll beg forgiveness for this spoiler because I find it amusing: 'deduced' put me over the top. Is that not fitting for a word puzzle, or am I too easily amused?
Took a bit longer than the other day to get here, but once again, no grid, no hints.
Feeling braggy, sorry not sorry. Twenty minutes, no grid, no hints.
six??? Here's what it shows me. Yes, this is today's word. 1638
Fuzzy or not, I pulled this off tonight.
Bored more than I thought. Maybe I need a hobby.
Got bored during Sunday night football.
