She/her. Asexual fantasy author, freelance blogger, and lover of bad musicals. Moth House 👐. THE WOUNDS OF WISDOM out now!
I actually came across this bit when I was editing yesterday and I am very soft about Celisdair. SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOK ONE although...it did not happen that way lol. #WIPSnips
Working on a blog about the first campaign I've ever done beginning to end as a TTRPG player and getting emotional.
Apropos of nothing but Mitch McConnell's high school picture looks like the guy that Charlie got expelled for punching in Dead Poet's Society
Finishing my Kids on Brooms campaign this weekend and I'm emotional so here's a beginning / end for my girl, Cami.
Those clouds look like a big gods conference happening up in there
I was making an Auri picrew because she's getting a character intro at some point this month on Ko-Fi and. I know she's based on Cami and all that but I did not realize I gave them almost the exact same clothes 😂.
May I offer you a "the ImpCycle books are out of packing and on my new bookshelves and I put them right next to my D&D books" in these trying times?
Sir Penwyr has finally escaped the labyrinth of Moving Boxes and taken her rightful place on my desk and the guardian of the fountain pen again.
Talking about Luminhaven WIP in the writing server and...that's it, that's the plot.
I might make a GoFundMe later but for now, I'd just say it's a great time to join one of my Ko-Fi memberships and get some extra writing from me! Anything I make from now through the 15th goes right into savings for the move/emergencies.
Day 12: Queer Joy or Queer Love In Your Story Queer joy in Hexmark's Fate was important to both of us. One of my first thoughts when we decided to make a witch school story was "Well the main girl is gonna be trans." (For no particular reason.) But it's ESPECIALLY one of THE... 1/3 #QueerPrompts
Day 12: Souls Beliefs about them vary but not only do people have souls. EVERYTHING has a soul. Other animals. Magic. The planet itself. That's sort of the result of the awakening. #FantasyWorldbuilding
Day 11: Does free will exist in your world? Yes. There are certainly people who believe in things like fate and who believe the gods or others have some kind of influence in the stirring of things, but people still make their own choices. #FantasyWorldbuilders
10. Are prophecies or psychic abilities real in your world? There are diviners and people who claim to and seem to see the future. And often there are prophecies that come true. There's still some debate on where that comes from and the validity of it though. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Day 7: Notable Bodies of Water Junvale is cut off by cliffs but perched against the Osorio Ocean. Maelin and her roommate, Leera, both grew up in a sanctuary to an ocean spirit. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Day 11: Description of your character's favorite invention. Gotta go with brooms racing once again! Truly Cami's biggest love at first try, brooms racing. #QueerPrompts
Day 11: Heartbreak in WIP I think all the romances give each other small heartbreaks at points on their way to getting where they need to be. There are also some BIG heartbreaks not necessarily romantic at the end of book one. #FantasyIndiesFebruary
Day 10: WIP Love Interest Del and Nissa are each other's love interests. But also Oak, Promise's childhood friend whom she's been harboring a desperate and TOTALLY ONE SIDED EVEN THOUGH HE FOLLOWED HER OUT HERE AND ALWAYS WORRIES OVER AND TRIES TO HEAL HER crush for years. #FantasyIndiesFebruary
Day 7: Snippet - A Nightmare Desperation clawed at her to throat to get out; but instead of her legs moving, the fire spread. She let out a scream, a grown woman's shriek mingled with a child's wails. #FantasyIndiesFebruary
Day 10: Is your MC a Heartbreaker? Cami would tell you that yes, obviously, she's out here breaking hearts left and right. 😎 She actually has a heartbreak or two of her own coming in the first book. And then, unbeknownst to her, Elias is pretty convinced she's going to be a Problem. #QueerPrompts
Day 8: Any Sports Mentioned In Your Story BROOMS! Brooms racing is a sort of relay race/obstacle course done on magic brooms. Cami decides on week one of school that she wants to become a pro brooms player and just holds onto that one. (She sure ain't gonna grow up to be a magic cop.) #QueerPrompts
Thinking abt Alasdair Verres tonight. My little shit of a son. Terrible strategist. Desperate baby boy. He might be my favorite.
Day 7: Race and/or health diversity in your story. Might be a few posts: So Cami's mum, Mercedes, is Mexican. She was raised in Scotland, while her father was an immigrant. One of Cami's best friends, Harper, is Korean-American with a complex relationship to her Korean culture. 1/4 #QueerPrompts
Day 6: Favorite genre to write or genre you'd never write My FAVORITE genre is fantasy adventure which...I'd say Hexmark's Fate is that. It's a magic school series but there is LOTS of adventure. I would never write comedy. I can be funny but not if that's the PURPOSE. #QueerPrompts
