The cookbook is from 1989 and they use artwork from packaging from 1973-1988, which I thought was super cool
Found these gems at used bookstores this past weekend! I love Central Asian textiles (thanks Otoyomegatari) and Crabtree & Evelyn was one of my favorite lotion brands before it disappeared(?) - I didn't know they had a cookbook 😯
my parents helped me clean up my garden since I couldn't clean it while recovering from surgery 🥹

There's this free scanner program thing that helps keep the colors better! www.naps2.com/download if you wanna try
Just finished!!!!! SO GOOD!!! I've never felt such a strong urge to do so much fanart for a book it was such a fun read 🥹🥹🥹
This sounds so fun! I'd love to throw my work in for consideration thewanderingren.com/visdev/
another picture I had considered using - 4 year old me attempting break dancing
Happy 5 years of #kidlitartpostcard day! I'm Michelle, an LA based illustrator open to new projects. Here's little me with a lion head, as I grew up doing kung fu and lion dancing (and still do!) My website: www.thewanderingren.com #kidlitart #kidlit #seekingrepresentation #illustration #aapi

Books from artist!! The 2 on the left are from mousu.art - tbh bit thick/heavy for carrying around but thick paper that doesn't warp even with heavier washes. The rightmost book isn't sold anymore but there's plenty other artists you can support!
Stillman & Birn, zeta series - smooth, thick 270 gsm paper. The paper is VERY smooth and I really enjoy using ink on it. I feel like it'd be good for gouache too, but haven't tried that
Maruman - I was VERY surprised at how nice the paper is? Esp given how cheap? I did get these in Japan but I've seen them at Daiso! In different sizes! I mainly use watercolor but I've seen an artist use copics too! youtu.be/L6XUoiXofog?... I like using it for color thumbs for my bigger paintings
OK TIME FOR MY FAVORITE: WATERCOLOR Global Art sketchbook - pretty good with watercolor! I'm not doing heavy washes with it since it's 200 gsm but it's great for my watercolor doodles! It lies flat v easily & is lightweight in my bag www.amazon.com/Global-Art-M...
Midori notebooks - great to write & draw on! The paper quality feels really nice, and I often throw this into my bag (that's why it's a little beat up..)
Daiso notebooks! Super cheap, I don't feel bad throwing them into a bag 😂 great for when you're out and about & just want to doodle some ideas. These are quite old but I really enjoyed using the kraft paper one for the color paper hahaha. Note: the left one's paper isn't as smooth as Muji
Muji - smooth, thin paper that feels good to write and draw on. And you can decorate it yourself!
You absolutely don't need Moleskine notebooks. Here's some of the ones I've used! 🧵
Some of the backgrounds I did for the "I Love You, Jocelyn" short for Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoons! The whole short is lovely and super cute, and it was pure joy to work on it. Please check it out, everyone did such beautiful work! www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyFl...
Yes, I've tried the hot spoon method. No, it does not work for me. 😩 I'm just thankful I only have 2 bites (and this is with wearing citronella bands on each leg 😭)
Made a stamp for my journaling! I use it a lot to plan out my day ☺️

My mom and aunt came to visit me the other day. Aunty I love you but I'm not doing that 😅
