Why are gambling experts concerned? Users under 25 are especially vulnerable to developing gambling addictions that follow them throughout their lives.

“An early big win can be a precursor toward the pathway of a gambling addiction, whether in that form of gambling or another,” says Michelle Malkin, a director of the Gambling Research & Policy Initiative at East Carolina University. “They've done it before; they can do it again. At the end of the day, gig work is still gig work—even if you’re training robots.

Patel proudly shares that one of the top earners on Kled is a truck driver earning $8,000 a month by filming with his dash cam and submitting pictures of potholes. But this user’s experience is clearly an outlier. The majority of those submitting data for AI model training are not making this kind of cash, even though the hunger for video training data seems almost boundless. Egocentric video gig work is still, well, gig work, which comes with fewer worker protections and less overall stability.

What surprised me the most while researching this piece was the wide range of advertisers currently participating in the ChatGPT pilot:

For example, I asked Al Mode what to pay attention to during the 2026 Oscars ceremony, and the in-line hyperlinks for top-contender movies, such as Sinners and One Battle After Another, lead to Google results. In fact, all 17 hyperlinks in this Al Mode output lead to Google results that appear in a sidebar. $The founder is a friend of mine, so maybe I'm bias, but I'm surprised wired doesn't get how network effects work and adoption curves happen, at least, it seems strange to publish this about a project someone did in a weekend, a few weekends ago, and is now trying to make a go of it? Like.. give him a couple of months to see how to improve the flow for the bots side, and general discoverability of the platform for agents at large. Maybe I'm a bit grumpy because it's my buddy but this article kinda rubs me the wrong way. :\$
