Are we talking that? I wasn’t. My local library has Cocoon on Blu-Ray. That’s how I watched the movie two years ago, when I was on a Ron Howard kick. Of course I’m not trying to argue that every library has a Blu-Ray copy, but many of them likely do.

For some reason none of it is on MU. But here’s what you need: find these two collections, either through eBay, a library, or inter-library loan (very underused resource). They not only collect all of the new material, but also annotate it and compare the differences when things were changed.

Not sure if you’ve ever listened to Waxahatchee, but she (Katie Crutchfield) and Kevin are expecting their first child together any day now. We saw him last week and he brought her out for a song. Part of what I love about Badlands is how much it seems to be about impending fatherhood.

Maybe the best history book I’ve ever read. It’s not only clear about what happened, but also perfectly explains why everything happened, and then connects all of those dots to our present context. Highly, highly recommended.

@letterboxd.social Can you explain why the average user rating is listed as 3.4 when the rating distribution graph clearly shows the average to be a 4? Not accusatory, just honestly curious. Maybe a function that the film just premiered and the numeric average hasn’t updated yet.
