My library of games and music CDs is pretty well organized. What in the world are they complaining about?

A shelf with hundreds of music CDs, with a couple dozen Sega Genesis games in the bottom two shelves.
Next to that, an identical shelf mounted over the end of a couch with videogames for PlayStation one and 2, including the original large packaging for PS1 games, Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Nintendo GameCube and Wii and Gameboy Advance, N64, SNES and Japanese Famicom carts. Even a few Atari 2600 carts.
A shelf in the middle contains some of the games I worked on, facing forward.
The shelf in the right has a prototype synthesizer I built on it, and on the left a stereo speaker is on a stand infront of a shelf made of euro crates filled with laserdiscs, TV projectors, and game systems.

I managed to fit most of the books and notes into one shelf... So much cool computer and videogame development history here. Also, my college textbooks. Those remind me that I have five things and am a competent person. I'd forget, otherwise.

A shelf filled with college textbooks, computer development books and manuals, secret Dev manuals for many older game consoles, software and development books for PC, PC-98, Atari ST, and Atari 8-bit computers, 68000 processors, 80s music synthesizers, various books with source code to type in for basic programs, a box containing a multitrack cassette deck, guitar tuners, a looper pedal, and a dead laptop I found in the street.
On top is the box for a portable drum kit.

An Epson video projector and Magnavox all in one stereo (with tape deck and record player), along with a US power converter and a stack of vinyl records, precariously balanced on two shelves bungied to the top of two road boxes next to a couch salvage from the street.

Once again, somebody has suggested that something I am responsible for is disorganized and ugly. Darlings, it's a working synthesizer setup. Everything is exactly where it needs to be for me to reach it and play it. It is the most beautiful thing ever.

11 music synthesizers with keyboards, 3 drum machines,a DIY arpeggiator, a guitar amp, practice amp, and a PA amp with speakers mounted on stands, 16 and 32 channel audio mixers mounted on a stand with 4 audio effects units, 5 guitar pedals, electric guitar and bass guitar, two vocal effect units, two sets of consumer drum pads, and a pro synth drum set and keytar hiding in the back.

So, I finally got the correct version of Melon DS Emulator running on my Anbernic RG DS Android Game system, and loaded up my software Rhythm Core Alpha 2 in DSi mode. Alas, it's just too slow at emulation, and I've no settings for frame skip or anything to fix it. If you know a fix, let me know!

Exactly. As a commentary on the current working system, ok. But they are normalizing it, not ending it. Oh, and I found another one of these: "If you don't work, you don't eat." At least the hero has compassion... and drags her back to work so that she can succeed and eat! Uh... right.

I keep finding these "don't work, don't eat" messages in anime. My headcannon is that there is a Japanese Ministry of Youth Culture that requires or boosts "positive" messages in media for kids. Because some of these occur way too often to be a coincidence. Is it just the zeitgeist or *conspiracy*?

I have to say, the anime "Sanda" is really getting interesting! The premise sounds *so* stupid, but the actual implementation is actually quite deep. This is science fiction. This is about growing up and getting old. This is about gender issues and lesbianism!? This is... ... amazingly good!

Shiori Fuyumura stands in front of a mirror at a row of sinks, by herself, in her underware. She is slender, but her shoulders are broad. Her body has hard lines and is rather boyish and angular. She is wearing a bralette, but is shows that she really has no breasts to speak of.
The dialog goes: "Who floats your boat more, Kazzy or Ono?
It's a moot question with a body like this.
When I look at it in the mirror... I can't figure out who I am.
Kazao is ready to grow into her feminine body. And her voice is high.
I'm flat chested, lean and lanky... 182 centimeters tall.
My voice is low.
My whole live, I've always been unsure about whether I'm a boy or a girl, a child or an adult.
It was only when I was with Ono that I could simply be Shiori Fuyumura."

Quite mature stuff in an anime about Santa Claus!
The art style is interesting too, with coarse linework with angular lines that vary thickness quite a bit, and a subdued color palette.
Following this scene are other scenes which, while safe, are quite daring for a TV anime.
I'm sure, if this were the US, somebody would yell about it being woke, but honestly, the emotional core of this story seems to hang on this.

That time Amuro got depressed and dozed off while (evidently) trying to debug or redesign the video overlay circuitry for his Gundam using the AY-3-8115 Color Processor Chip from General Instruments. He's very confused... it's only an 18 pin part, and yet he's designed as if it has 2 pin 20s...

But the chips in the circuit are real: the AY-3-8115 Color Processor, the DS8629 120MHz Divide-by-100 Prescaler, ER1400 EPROM, and an unidentifiable CD426, but maybe they meant the CD4026 7 bit counter?
There are a bunch of complicated equations, which might not actually have to do with this circuit, which is obviously wrong because the AY-3-8115 is shown with 2 pin 20s. when it only has 18 pins in real life.
It's sort of like they asked AI to make something complicated for him to draw on the screen, not really caring what it was as long as it looked like serious work. Except that it was 1979 and we didn't even have COMPUTERS yet, so an actual animator had to pull some tech shit out of his ass and make it look good, so he probably poked around in the library and found some book on TV repair or computer anything and regurgitated some random schematic from it partially, with some changes to make it look cooler / fit on the display.
I just though it was cool... I thought the AY chip might have been a sound generator, since a lot of early sound-generators were in the AY series, but it was not the case here.
It's kinda amazing how your post can only be a very small number of characters, but you have enough to write a small novel in the alt text...

I'd like to encourage people to pay attention to what I call "small history": the extraordinary things that happened to ordinary people + at ordinary places during historically significant times. European neighborhoods have some of it documented on buildings and plaques, if you are paying attention.
