Goodbye Windows, Hello Linux Mint! Windows 11 and the Microsoft Cloud forced themselves on my old laptop - slow, overheated, and crashed often. I downloaded Linux Mint Xfce. Now my entire operating system fits on this thumb drive. Easy. Works quickly. Doesn't overheat the laptop. I'm a convert.

The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi - big thank you to those who kept recommending it! This is a graphic novel of a girl growing into a young woman in Iran during the Revolution and Iraq war years, ~1979 to 1994. The book is about lots of other things, too, but that setting is a good start.

I won a Sangean RCR-22 Radio-Alarm Clock at my local auction. It sets itself to the time signal from the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, about 1700 miles away from me. At first it didn't work, and I had to set the time manually, but overnight it found the signal and has worked perfectly since.
