Deeply unimportant and unimpressive NHS-working, non-wingnut, left-ish, film-/music-/book-obsessed, Brit-Kiwi IT guy, based in London. Anti-Brexit, anti-hate, anti-stupid; so, I dunno: probably "liberal", "leftist", "woke" or something. Who knows.
And even more depressing, you can get an actual t-shirt for this bullshit.
Bug Jack Barron was my first, as teenager. (Thank you, 1980s Starburst magazine "book page"; I mean: look at that cover). Then, decades later, The Iron Dream. Made me read Barron all over again. Barron *definitely* of its time, and Dream deliberately so, but still rate them fondly. Report back...
Sometimes, in the middle of yet another heat wave in London, you just want a daft as fuck Guy Ritchie caper movie to start the evening.
Getting a bit sick of CoPilot saying "sorry" for missing the bleeding fucking obvious.
The fact that they never made more of this is proof we live in godless universe that is indifferent to quality.
Three Days Of The Condor 70s paranoia film. Why did it take so long for me to finally watch this gem?
In a mood, somehow decided to watch this charming-as-fuck little beauty. I am now cheery again.
There’s probably a long foreign-sounding word for the betrayal one feels when opening a double album for the first time and realising it isn’t a double-album, just two identical ones, and it’s too late for a refund…
Will check it out. Strangely, I seem to be bouncing between three film books at the moment: Thomson, Biskind… …and some other bloke you might, I dunno, be familiar with.
Ordered and delivered and, as you can see, currently/pretentiously atop a fairly recent Sight & Sound magazine. Will commence soon…
No lies detected. Behold: the messy and slightly sun-faded grey sofa upon which I have read a number of your books.
