A walk through the fields round the back of Borehamwood's secondary school this morning yielded a lovely Barred Yellow moth, a Painted Lady, Hedge Woundwort and Opium Poppy. Also saw my first Large Skippers and Meadow Browns of the year, and heard singing Lesser Whitethroat. Not a bad return!
Grizzled Skipper at Waterford Heath today. @bc-hertsmiddx.bsky.social @hertswildlifetrust.bsky.social
Sainfoin and two different shades of Milkwort, seen at Hexton Chalk Pits today @hertswildlifetrust.bsky.social
Spent a couple of glorious hours at Hexton Chalk Pits this morning. Had the place all to myself. As well as Dingy Skipper, Burnet Companion Moth and Small Heath I saw Green Hairstreak - which, alas, eluded my camera. @bc-hertsmiddx.bsky.social @hertswildlifetrust.bsky.social
I found some today on the banks of the River Teifi, plus some other fungi I can't as yet identify.
Common Fleabane, Common Burdock, Spear Thistle and Hemp Agrimony at Dinas Island today in sunny Pembrokeshire.
Large Skipper, female Common Blue and Mint Moth, seen at Le Marais de Montceaux L'Étoile today. Also a remarkably clear view of a (non-singing) Nightingale (no photo, alas).
Female Essex Skipper, Marbled White and slightly blurred Spotted Fritillary, all seen on a short roadside stop in central France today.
@mothiduk.bsky.social Good afternoon, would you be able to ID these moths for me, please?
Salad Burnet and Hedge Bedstraw, two new plants for me, seen today at Albany Park in Enfield.
@mothiduk.bsky.social Could you please help me identify the moths in my first 2 images here, and just confirm that the third is a Common Swift? Many thanks.
Architectural details at Leicester Square I had somehow never noticed before.
