Interested in railways, railway modelling, model railroads, travel, rail travel, food, beer. Used to model 1940s LMS themed OO gauge, now starting again with an O gauge shunting layout, set somewhere in 1970s Nordrhein-Westfalen.
I saw a layout last year called Edenbridge Town with sound and light effects controlled by a MERG system. Individual sound and/or light effects could be selected manually. But there were also automatic sequences such as a 'sunrise' lighting effect complete with a cock crowing and cows mooing.
A photo from five years ago when I was still modelling in 00 scale. I have plans to resurrect all this for small 'shunting puzzle' layout. #modeltrains #modellbahn
Finished embedding the tracks for my factory zone and gave it a first coat of primer. Very pleased with the result so far and hopefully progress will speed up from now on. #modeltrains #modellbahn #spur0
Old enough to remember Morland BEFORE Old Speckled Hen. Fond memories of seeking shade in family run Morland pubs in rural Oxfordshire in summer of 76. Sad when they were taken over by Greene King, but even sadder now owned by Damm? Anyway, this is surprisingly refreshing for a stout. #Bskybeer
This is a close up of the Temu embossed foam sheets. It is available in various effects and looked very promising. Unfortunately the blue shows through even multiple layers of paint. Once you get enough paint on to hide the blue you also hide paving effect.
More work on industrial module. Progress is slower than hoped due to set of points just off the module so precision track positioning is required. The blue stuff is embossed foam sheets from Temu. Turned out to be rubbish, so now just using it to fill the space so less filler required. #Modeltrains

I had a cultural trip to Manchester on Wednesday. First a visit to the Ai Weiwei ‘Button Up’ exhibition. Then the excellent Manchester City Art Gallery. #Art #Manchester
Slate quarry tramways were typically only 2ft 6 inch gauge and so sharp bends were quite common.
I found myself yesterday in The Waterhouse, next to Manchester Town Hall. Never heard of Peerless Brewing brewing before, but I can never resist an Oatmeal stout and it was superb. #Bskybeer
I have finally decided what the industrial corner of my layout will look like. However, it is too awkward to work on in situ, so building it as a separate module that will put in place later. #modeltrains #Railwaymodeling #spur0
I confess to never heard of Great Newsome brewery and I was expecting something fairly nondescript, but NO! This Is Gorgeous! #Bskybeer
