Preening Great Blue Heron, Juanita Beach Park, Kenmore WA. April 10, 2026

A great blue heron perched in the early spring, still leafless branches doubles her neck over to preen her chest. She takes on the form of a heart-shaped box.
To Note I assume she is female but honestly I have no idea.
