Just saw my neighbour and she warned me there are small but growing ragweed plants sprouting on the new track. NOT ragwort, ragweed is more deadly as an animal doesn't need to ingest it to be at risk of death. It's what killed my lovely boy Ci. I'll have to be extra vigilant.
Oy!! I've been celibate for years (from choice). I look nothing like that rancid old bag!!
Well hello, little oakling, and thrice welcome. You have nothing to fear from old Tottie for she will protect and nurture you, by the grace of Thorin Oakenshield 😀
Far too hot to go out anywhere for a picnic so Rosie and I had our little snack on my own land, Dogtonville. Not too shabby, eh?
Here's my little kitchen garden, much neglected but now liberated. If anyone says they cant see a difference I might cry because I did it all my little self in temperatures up to 30c!
Genuinely don't understand the 'stick to your birth gender toilets'. These are the public loos in my little town, the door to the right of the fountain. Always very clean, and Unisex. Urinals to the left, cubicles to the right. Never heard of any problems there.
A very British picnic. Sitting in the car under dripping trees in heavy rain 🌧 having our afternoon tea. Can't beat it!!
Not a whinge! I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease at 60. I live in France - no more pain au chocolat! Instead I make these Muffeleines (muffin x madeleine) with ground almond. Not exciting but nicer and cheaper than shop GF. Happy to share the recipe if anyone wants to try them.
Can't tell you how many times today I've lugged rampant iris from the pond to the compost heap but I can tell you it was a lot!
Rosie and I had a nice cool picnic in Dogtonville in the little shady spot I cleared. She loved it! Sometimes she wont eat a treat anywhere other than at the house but she gobbled one and even asked for another!
First strim of the day. Hot as Hades already but if I don't get on top of it it quickly gets out of control. I got buzzed by a normally placid carpenter who claimed I was too close to THEIR pineapple broom. Huh! I bought it - at great expense!
Is it a walnut? Is it a brain?? I have no idea but it's all the trail cam captured yesterday!!
Home made GF 'muffeleines' just out of the oven and they look not bad!
They're forecasting very high temperatures for some days to come so Rosie and I will be sleeping out on the balcony!
I forgot to take a proper Before photo of my current rose-wrestling exploits. This is Day 2. Yesterday everything was as tall as or taller than this buddleia. Not bad progress for a little old biddy with some dodgy vertebrae.
My brother would have been 78 today. The drink took him far too early. Here's about the best photo I have of him.
