#Film&TV2026 Green Wing rewatch. What a truly strange, lovely, nasty series. The jokes about Saville, Glitter and Harris make the viewer wince but this has aged very well otherwise. It's often dark humour hits far more than it misses and there are some excellent bits of scripting
It'd be much funnier to get everyone behind Rupert Lowe! Giles Watling (of the final episode of Allo Allo fame) was the incumbent Tory.
My question before I go to sleep: if you were a character in Pullman's His Dark Materials, what would your dæmon be? I think mine would be a jay.
Make a Doctor Who title less scary. (I know it's the wrong Doctor for the title card but who gives a foofee)
I read this when I was 12 and it was first published. Just reread it, and apart from a really dreadful paragraph with too many repeated nouns on the first page, it rattles along nicely. It's not a bad story, a shame Mr Coburn won't allow us to watch it! 3.5/5
I'm pleased to say I rediscovered these lovely things yesterday after 18 months of thinking them forever lost. Bill Russell, Jackie Lane, Mary Tamm, Lis Sladen and uncle Tom, amongst others.
