Transform California

Since its beginnings, Transform has launched programs, built coalitions, and won campaigns to promote thriving transit, dense, affordable housing, and safe, vibrant streets—always working in authentic partnership with communities. We believe we can face ma
Transform joined the Safe Streets, Sidewalks, & Communities meeting on 8/5 with Alameda County Public Health Department, @visionzeronet.bsky.social, SAHA (Monarch Homes), OakDOT, Toole Design Group, Alta Planning + Design, & the California Office of Traffic Safety, lifting up resident voices.
Thank you Assemblymember Avila Farias' staff for meeting with us to discuss the unacceptable cuts to housing, transit, clean air and clean water programs funded through Cap-and-Invest.
Thank you for everyone who showed up in Sacramento today to speak out against California's skewed funding priorities. Cap-and-Invest funds need to go to the transportation, housing, and climate protection programs that reduce GHGs, not back into the pockets of polluters.
We won’t hit our housing goals without funding fast, frequent, and reliable transit throughout California. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/arti...
Yesterday was the 36th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Access to public transit was one of the core demands of disability activists. We've come a long way in 36 years, with much more to go.
The Oakland-Alameda Water Shuttle is a quick trip! But, we still got to spend a moment with the captain on the way to our focus group for Transform's West Alameda Mobility for All project: transformca.org/alameda-tran...
Bikes + trains = a complete transit system. Great video from @streetsblogsf.bsky.social.
Curb cuts. Ramps. Elevators. Kneeling buses. These universal design features weren’t always part of our public landscape. This #DisabilityPrideMonth, we honor the Bay Area activists who put their bodies and their lives on the line to win things that help people of all ages & abilities move freely.
Be a part of the public transit solution! Connect Bay Area Transit is hiring a San Francisco Organizing Director and a County Organizer. Applications are open. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
We had a great time filming our first video for #SPOTSJ with CreaTV last week in San Jose. Many thanks to Emily Thomas of Farts + Crafts Club for talking with us about the shop she and her partners run on San Pedro Square!
We had a great time at the Mastick Senior Center gathering surveys for West Alameda Mobility for All. We collected over 40 surveys AND got to watch the World Cup match.
@vta.org gets the crowds to the stadium for the Team USA game #worldcup2026. Transit lets us have nice things. Vote to save it in November @connectbayarea.bsky.social
Catch the #worldcup action today on the big screen at San Pedro Square. Downtown San Jose: Scotland v Brazil (12:00 p.m.) Morocco v Haiti (3:00 p.m.) Switzerland v Canada (12:00 p.m.) Bosnia and Herzegovina v Qatar (12:00 pm) Czechia v Mexico (6:00 pm) South Africa v Korea Republic (6:00 pm) #SPOTSJ
Transform is closed today in recognition of the day all enslaved people in the U.S. were finally freed. We return on Monday to keep fighting to preserve and expand those freedoms. #Juneteenth
Happy International Picnic Day! The Bay Area has an abundance of parks and open space to enjoy a meal outdoors.
Sometimes we get mistaken as a trans rights organization. Actually, our work is transforming our communities to be accessible, affordable, and safe for everyone. Supporting the LGBTQ+ community is baked into this vision and everything we do. Happy Pride!
It was great to join Rise South City in May for a public transportation workshop. Transform was on hand to provide support and discuss the regional transit measure and the proposed widening of Hwy 101. We gave away some Transform swag, too!
Thank you to Richmond Rising for inviting us to join their meeting last month, where we presented @mcecleanenergy.org offerings and listened to ideas from the community about how Transform and MCE can help fill gaps in their transportation needs.
We kicked off June by connecting with N. Richmond residents at Community Awareness Day! We heard strong interest in the @mcecleanenergy.org EV Rebate Program; got ideas for EV charging station locations alongside Grid Alternatives; & shared info about Clipper Start. Thanks to CHDC for hosting.
If you think Cap-and-Invest money should go to programs that reduce climate change and improve the lives of Californians, join us today at noon in San Francisco Civic Center Plaza. We're protesting a plan that will INCREASE GHG emissions, give $ to Big Oil, & strip funding from housing and transit.
This bike month, Transform Program Director Jennifer Ledet celebrates how she gets her whole family around on 2 (or 3) wheels: "We love to go on outings to the library, park, farmers market, or festivals. Having an e-bike and e-trike makes it fun and feasible. I'm glad I can share it with my kids."
This year, for the first time, oaklandroots.bsky.social will host an Affordable Housing Night during their home game on May 30th at the Oakland Coliseum! 20% of tickets purchased through the East Bay Housing Organizations' link will be donated to EBHO.
Transform's #SPOTSJ project is helping businesses in downtown San Jose, CA attract more business without more parking. transformca.org/spotsj/local...
In celebration of #BikeMonth, the Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools Program is hosting a webinar on Thursday, May 21, at noon to share how community leaders are building excitement for walking, biking, or rolling to school. This webinar introduces imaginative tools to support biking.

Happy Bike to Wherever Day! And a special shout out to everyone biking to school today. @bikeeastbay.bsky.social #BTWD2026
Thank you for a fantastic All Aboard! We had a great time hanging out with everyone on a beautiful Oakland night at NIDO's BackYard. Special thanks to Noelia Corzo and all our fabulous sponsors!
