😂😂😂 🐐🐄🐑🐎🐪🐖 I have been confirming pet policy details for transit in WA. Today the Guemes Island Ferry replied.

We also allow transportation of livestock or other large animals, as long as they are contained within a vehicle or legal street trailer (oversize fees may apply). Haulers are responsible for cleaning up any mess or damage caused by their animals on the car deck or in loading areas.

Golden Gardens Direct

It’s only 2 3/4 miles up to the falls but the last mile is a series of increasingly steep switchbacks. Oooof. But not grueling.

The hike to the falls is varied, starting in lovely cool forest with a moderate climb before eventually steepening for a rockier climb to falls in patchy of sun.

Confession! I hardly ever use #TrailheadDirect to hike. 🫢 I mostly use it to get to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail to bike. But today I actually hiked to Mt. Teneriffe Falls using the Mt. Si route.

2/ Island Transit serves the park.

Bus route map showing it stops at Deception Pass State Park. The map doesn't say it stops at the park, but the stop is literally about 50 steps from one of the campgrounds. On the other side of the state highway, a stop is located immediately south of the park's main entrance.

Pursuant to @dariaphoebe.com's post, a brilliant solution for car-free kayak and canoe access awaits you at Bradenton, FL's Robinson Preserve. County rents these boat storage lockers. Pretty easy to access by hiking or biking from bus stop at connected Perico Reserve.

Back of the napkin itinerary: Day 1, walk the Riverwalk east in the evening when things cool down. Lovely playground for kiddos, drums, lounging, volleyball, canoe/kayak launch. Biking across the bridge & back also an option!

Since 2016 when this was written, Amtrak has vastly expanded the ability to bring bikes on board. It welcomes them.
