Sharon Stone in The Quick and the Dead needs to be in the running
Made a meme of our cat Snowy and how much he loves water and being clean
I have never felt so complimented by a personality quiz???
If you watch this as the jewelry heiress director’s libidinal/paranoiac fantasy of having a devious poor person destroy her family and steal her fortune, mediated through fujoing out and repressed transmasculinity, it’s almost good
The movie takes confident swings with imagery and doesn’t explain itself
David Jonsson’s Andy is outstanding and the Creature at the end is legitimately horrifying and unsettling
If it were just an action movie and not an Alien movie, I’d love it.
Tom Hardy manages to sell the ridiculous lines he’s given and still come across intimidating and effective while having half his face covered by a mask the whole movie.
It’s an interesting case study in adaptation and how to shuffle around elements of a story to bring more focus on certain characters. Old Man Connery as Old Arthur is pretty good caating
The first 20-30 min (before it cuts to Justin Long) is genuinely scary and atmospheric
Tim Curry is great as always and Michael Wincott manages to hold his own on a role previously held by Christopher Lee
The twist with the Architect is an interesting complication to the more straightforward heroic narrative of the first movie. The fits are still great
Jude Law is clearly having a great time as Vortigern and making Arthur a gang leader raised on the street was a genuinely interesting angle
Everyone talks about the bear so instead I’m gonna mention the cut after entering leading to them suddenly being setup in camp, and then the characters themselves commenting on the cut was effectively disorienting, violating, and—most importantly—the film wasn’t cute about it
The production design and costumes are genuinely outstanding and iconic.
It’s a tribute to Nolan’s obsession with structure that this movie makes as intuitive sense as it does to general audiences considering it’s asking you to juggle simultaneous layers of reality and be engaged with the plot
Considering politicians and the press have spent decades claiming that bombing a place isn’t the same as declaring war on them, I suppose it’s only natural that now you can have both sides bombing each other and still claim it’s a ceasefire
Texted Jess “package get” on my lunch break and I was move to edit a picture to go with it
That one “guy” that really loves using anime girl pfps and playing as anime girls in games
Every single piece of armor shown thus far is using styles that did not exist for hundreds of years *after* the Odyssey would have taken place. Actual mycenaean-period armor looks nothing like anything these people are wearing
