The Pierce Transit Board just unanimously voted to send a proposed ballot measure to voters to expand transit service in Pierce County! We held a press conference with transit riders, advocates, and community leaders ready to make sure it passes this November. Here's what they're saying:

Thank you to everyone who came out to Seattle City Hall today to speak up for more bus service in Seattle! Some amendments to the Seattle Transit Measure would cut its funding, shorten its duration, and slow the delivery of new service. Transit riders turned out in force to give public comment.

Calling all transit supporters in Pierce County! TODAY at 4 PM, the Pierce Transit board will meet to vote on whether to send a measure to the ballot that would double the frequency of most bus routes, run routes later, create new routes, and let seniors ride free. They need to hear from YOU!

Tomorrow, 6/18, at 8:45, we're holding a rally with @mayorofseattle.bsky.social to show our support for more buses! A new proposal to renew the Seattle Transit Measure would fund 100,000 more service hours and double the number of free transit passes for low-income residents. Join us!

Like so many others, we were shocked and saddened to learn about the sudden passing of Senator Bill Ramos over the weekend. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues. Senator Ramos was a dedicated public servant and a champion for transit.
