Fortunately I have an old pack of gnolls I can use/chop/repaint, and a big hyena that can easily be repainted into a Hyenaut, but I still got a lot of cackling crocutids to draw 😵💫
My Wednesday game group asked me to run Draw Steel’s “The Red Road” I’m gonna’ need to design and print a LOT more gnoll minis 😅

I loved this adventure! Ran it for coworkers at LAIKA. The short, episodic chapters were perfect for 2 hour, after work sessions. Even the companion soundtrack was fantastic for introducing certain chapters & NPCs! It’s a real shame spaceship rules were either nonexistent, bland or clunky.
There’s also an option with a pile of coins, because nothing is more enticing than a heap of treasure under bones!
In Draw Steel, the skeleton minions turn into hazardous zones when defeated, so of course I had to make that!
In my defense, there’s a LOT of swarm-type creatures in this game, and they work better as tiles then standees
Super behind this month (Vacation and GO Fest ate up most of my free time) so patrons are getting more Swarm Tiles. Sorry!
I didn’t have Demogorgon cultists, but adding some accessories to a chaos-cult miniboss worked just fine. I like their silly masks.
I’ve recently started adding the monster’s AC to the player-facing side of the initiative tent. I run a lot of combats per-session and this streamlines things a bit.
I also use a wet erase Chessex mat. You can’t go wrong with those! For interior fog of war, I use sticky notes, or if I’m feeling ambition, chop the map into rooms and assemble it as the party explores
You are correct. Office supply stores are secret D&D stores, and that is the smell of D&D. I’m a big fan of the disposable battle maps they sell!
Of course the Druid’s displacer beast kitten got the killing blow on the Chaos Dragon 😹
Ran a quest from the Stranger Things box (modified for level and home setting) because I thought the poster map was cool. My players took some real nice pics of the battlefield!
