(They/Them) Welsh - I mostly yap about manga, ps2 games & Mecha I want to Believe 👽 I Make Videos on Manga: Please Support my Manga Yapping:
Inio Asano seemingly putting his manga on hiatus so he can go back to it when AI is more widely acceptable in the manga industry is so depressing He clearly puts a lot of effort in already, I don't get it, where's your creative integrity Best case scenario is what he's said is out of context?
Sometimes out of the blue i'll just think of the ending to Chrno Crusade. I think it's a bit sad that I don't hear anybody talk about it anymore
It will forever be funny to me that this is where the iconic Leorio face comes from
Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #33 Blue Box ends very well, it's crazy it's been something i've read almost every single week of my life for 5 years but life goes on! Very fulfilling. The newbies are also doing great, under Doctor pulling a Black Jack, Roku being super funny and Kinato was darn cute!
There is something so special about Grandma's, I resonated with this week's chapter of Kiyoshi a lot since I love my Granny so much too so this hit like a warm blanket
One of Shonen Jumps only Mecha manga, Mashinryu Varion finally has a full fan translation!! It's always extremely cool to see more of Jumps axed catalogue get filled out like this! I was notified that I helped put eyes on it too which makes me very happy!
Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #32 A super packed week with some lows but a few great highs! I honestly wasn't expecting Blue Box's conclusion to make me feel so much. Kinato is possibly my biggest dark horse of the year, very fun! And Roku once again just makes me laugh and cry out of pure enjoyment
The Agatha Christie shelf grows!! I also have Poirots Early Cases and While the Light Lasts off to the side! Much to read!
Read through Zaregoto book 2 on my trip (& half of book 3) And was pretty blown away with it! It's unassuming at first but super engrossing. Ii is just super fascinating, especially with how he just straight up lies and is a super unreliable narrator, with him flat out not wanting to be the protag
finally back from my trip and played a little bit of of Deltarune chapter 5 and this whole segment made me super lightheaded, I haven't laugh like this in a while
The Nisio Brainworms have returned!! I adore how loquacious his writing is, like a puzzle or game he toys around with what hes saying and it's just a joy to physically read it!
Weekly Shonen Jump - Issue #30 And with Cannon Master we have our newbies, they're all a lot of fun too! Some standouts this week were Kagurabachi's focus on the smelting process, Roku having an absurd curse football match wasn't on my bingo either! Seeing Blue Box wrap up is very sweet too 💙
There were so many cool Hikaru no Go images I could have used for this one, the process was a lot of fun though
Metaphor is not messing around! The last story arc has been especially heavy hitting in ways I didn't expect. I don't think its flirting with anything especially revolutionary yet but everything its trying to say in regards to discrimination and fantasy is very well done!
Having a discord full of peeps is very fun sometimes ... anyway go read Under Doctor! It's Rad!!!
Weekly Shonen Jump - Issue #29 A really solid week of Jump, lot's of chapters I had fun with! Plenty of older series are undergoing some great story beats, especially Ichi, Kagurabachi and Akane! Love the new Undoc development! Roku's chapter was very sweet and then Hal Formula was phenomenal!
Im absolutely wowed by Hal Formulas first chapter. On his 3rd attempt in jump this is pretty much ride or die for him so he chooses to take a huge risk. How that's reflected in Miharu here is very resonant to me. I can just feel how hard he's trying here, all the effort and love fully comes across
I resonated so much with Oscar, theyre such a tragic character trapped between so many labels. Always trying to do their best to help others, through prejudice and mockery. And in return all they want is to feel human, to be loved for who they are
Finished the Rose of Versailles... My fragile heart has been torn asunder, even though I knew it could end only one way from the very beginning
I've been watching Giant Robo the Day the Earth Stood Still and at so many points i've gasped but this one might take the cake. People told me it was a massive love letter to Mitsuteru Yokoyama and they were not wrong!
Ah yes the renowned horror masterpiece Silent Hill 2 (2001) as opposed to good old Silent Hill 2 ... I think this is absolutely diabolical evil behaviour
