recently i decided to try out the beta 1.7.3 mod Better than Adventure. i'm not usually an old Minecraft type of gal (i started playing in release 1.4 anyway), but so far i've been quite enjoying it. it's a somewhat more peaceful and laid-back experience and i like the variety of blocks the mod adds

also, the Pluto and Charon here is actually just a Blender render with some compositing done to it... it looks nice I think, but maybe feels slightly cheaty. i'm not sure

2nd Star, planetary scientist #art #oc

Sarita P, well-known influencer on the Jovian internet famous for her travel vlogs to rarely-visited places, records her most dangerous vlog yet; setting foot on Jupiter's moon Io. Down here the radiation kills in mere hours, constraining Sarita's time on the surface to only a few short minutes.

experimented with some stylisation stuff in Blender today #art #b3d #blender #3dart #space

Render depicting a shiny metallic spaceship positioned in front of a barren orange/tan coloured planet. The render is stylised to look like a drawing, with a Kuwahara filter applied and messy lineart outlining the ship and planet.

Another render in a similar style to the previous one, though now depicting the ship above an Io-like world covered in volcanism and flowing lava.

Render depicting a close-up of Proxima Centauri. Here the filter causes all the little granules to have sharp, well-defined edges while the dark flowing starspots are smoothed out.

One last render depicting a gas giant almost completely covered in white clouds. A splatter of saturated blue wraps around the planet, gaps in the clouds expose the deeper haze.

the other day in ksp i did a mission where i went and grabbed an asteroid and moved it into low kerbin orbit. this ship had a TWR of about 0.0038 (~0.0375 m/s²) once docked with the asteroid. thankfully with the mod Background Thrust i could easily timewarp through all the hours of burning

i'm not good enough at python though to know how to make an interface and stuff, so to change the starting values i just open the code and manually change it

Bulb Coral (actually a type of fungus) is a medicinal GMO found throughout the Solar System, its main produce is one of the key ingredients in space osteoporosis medicine, which allows folks to spend long periods of time in zero or partial gravity without suffering irreversible skeletal damage. #art

fun fact there's currently a bug in Space Engine where the mass for Wolf-Rayet stars has no upper limit, in some cases leading to ridiculous (unrealistic) stars massing thousands of times that of the Sun. this particular example is an impressive 10,849 solar masses
