This is off topic, but is that a Bumi that he brings back to the deck? My first Shiloh Shepherd, my second and then my third all loved them. I had all sizes in all colors and all but one survived all three of those girls.
How many water company men does it take to check for blockages in neighborhood water systems? Today the answer showed up.
Good idea. Here's an eight year old photo of my little guy Kier when he was a new arrival at my house.
Yep. My last cat had a large area of the house he could access at will that the dogs could not. When he faced death, the dogs stopped going after him and he could finally sit with me in the living area/sleep with me. His last few months were health challenged, but our bond grew by leaps and bounds.
Yes. Not long ago, I had my first close encounter with a pileated woodpecker and I had had no idea they were longer than my forearm. Huge!
Since he's a Spaniel, this boy is prone to ear infections. Two weeks ago, a vet visit revealed 3 infections. New: raw bacteria (excruciating). An antibiotic treatment killed that, nearly removed a second infection but, being antibiotic, told the yeast to explode. Neverending struggles. Poor fellow.
Here's my little boy. He will be 8 yrs old on April 8.
The girl in my profile ID photo is Kenna. She was my soul dog. Intense bond. She died just over a year ago after eeking out her 13th B-day. But I have Kier still, pictured here. He is 8. Not a soul dog but a companion nonetheless.
One year as of last week. Tears find their way almost daily still. Yours was beautiful.

C,mon lady. It's two hours past bedtime. Let's hit the sack, pleeeese.
She is gorgeous. Reminds me of my Pikasso, lost at Christmas during COVID. He was a handsome fellow.
This is Kier. His eyes are almost always lost in his black face. He likes to eat snowfrom the deck bench. That makes his ears snowy on the ends. The white on the nose and neck is his, however.
I feel for you. I lost 13 year old souldog Kenna in March of this year. I still battle tears. Little guy Kier misses her companionship but he keeps my heart flowing with love.
G'mornin Bluesky! Believe it or not, my eyes are open.
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for siblings, all scattered, and for Mom, 98, who's still going strong. Due to high winds, my dog Kier and I are on our own today. 9 months in, my heart still aches from losing my Shepherd Kenna, so I am thankful to have my little Cocker to love, eye issues and all.
Post storm. Looks so beautiful but the pop and power outage were caused by a lot of wind damage just down the road about 1/2 a mile. Some houses were damaged but an old one room, brick schoolhouse stands untouched in the midst of demolished trees.
Lucky you. I can't get my Cocker Spaniel to sit still for one. If luck allows a shot, I rarely see his eyes in it. I can find them only because he is now going gray around them.
It is my age, physical and financial circumstances that make me think another large dog is not in my future. I'd have one in a blink otherwise. My reason for being born was to care for some animals over my lifetime. Kenna was ill, not walking, physically taking a toll on me. I do still have Kier.
Happy Father's Day, Dad. Handsome fellow, wasn't he? Certainly caught my mother's eye. We lost him when he was 73 after about thirty years Parkinson's and one heart attack that almost killed him.
