One of many things we don’t know about Anne Boleyn is when she was born. Blickling Hall is said to be her birth place, but when? Hever Castle is known as her childhood home. Are you team 1501 or team 1507? I am also running a poll over on my Instagram (link in bio)
Happy 553rd birthday to Margaret Pole, (Plantagenet) Countess of Salisbury who was born #OTD in 1473. ✨more on Margaret over on my Instagram, link in bio✨

Henry VIII had a busy day on July 28th, 1540. Thomas Cromwell was executed on Tower Hill on fabricated charges. Henry married a teenager while he was 49.
Thomas Cromwell once had a residence at Austin Friars. He would play a role in dissolving Austin Friars during the dissolution of the monasteries.
#OTD in 1540 Thomas Cromwell was executed in public on Tower Hill on order of Henry VIII who regretted it later. Cromwell was 54-55 years old at the time of his execution. His wife and two daughters predeceased him. His son Gregory remained largely unscathed. 1/2

Lady Jane Grey had a very short tenure as queen, often known as the ‘Nine Days Queen.’ While I don’t agree with this and think it was thirteen days. The next person in line was generally thought of as monarch when their predecessor passed away, not when Parliament said they were. 1/2
#OTD (yesterday) in 1557 Anne of Cleves, 4th wife to Henry VIII, passed away at Chelsea Manor in London. She was either 41 or 42 years old.
