Hi, I would like to bring you the light of the glorious gospel of Christ. I'm a Christian, not by my good works, but my repentance to God for my sins, and my faith in Jesus Christ. It's His work on the cross. It was my Faith in the gospel, which is the good news, and it is Jesus Christ's death on the cross, Jesus Christ's burial in the tomb, and Jesus Christ'S resurrection the third day. His payment for my sins, not my payment for my sins. I would like to ask if You have ever received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior through faith? We are saved through faith in the gospel. How do we obtain this faith? "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17) "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) You didn't see Jesus die for you, or rise from the grave, just believe, that's faith! Read God's Word, and grow your faith.

I gave a couple of girls a glow necklace and bracelet at the town festival tonight. Their dad immediately gave me this…WHY??? He then tried talking to me about being saved and other evangelical crap. Pretty sure he was born again Christian because they tend to be the worst.

I feel like I somehow know who this book is talking about…

her love showing in his face, but she is too insecure and maladjusted in her own life to give him the affection he so desperately needs. Seemingly unable to find any place in the world where he "belongs," this final rejection by his mother is too hurtful to bear, and Donald's resentment at last bursts out in one hostile, antisocial act. He hurls a stone through a shopwindow and is apprehended and sent to the Wiltwyk School for Boys.
Here Donald joins other unwanted children, many with severe personality problems and long delinquency records. Although Donald has been badly scarred emo-tionally, he is still able to respond, gradually, to the kindness of a young counselor. But he is so starved for affection and so afraid of being rejected and hurt again that he cannot share his friend with others. His final sense of loss comes when he makes a piece of ceramics for his mother and finds that she has disap-peared, leaving no address. Hurt, bewildered, resent-ful, he steals a cigarette lighter from the counselor and runs away, going aimlessly down the railroad track.
A narrow escape from death by a train passing through a narrow cut is the crisis for Donald. In a few seconds he sees in a
realistic way the experiences in the past that have made him afraid and unsure, Illusions about his home, his mother, and the recent counselor give way to a reluctant but more healthful acceptance of the present, and a birth of a new self-reliance. His adjustment will be slow, and many wounds may never heal entirely, but he is now able to join in the play with other boys like himself and will someday find it possible to take a constructive place in society.
Unfortunately, most boys like Donald are not able to tind the complete emotional acceptance and security they need as a first step toward developing feelings of worth and confidence and becoming participating members of society.

Considering the IRS already knows what most people made last year, imposing a waiting period for those who qualify for the EIC in the guise of “limiting fraudulent EIC claims” is just another way to hurt and shame low income folks. It looks like they’re going to make people wait even longer.

This reminds me of the way people just assume kind people are easy targets.

One thing people need to understand about extremely kind, nice and loving people, is that their other side is just as extreme. It's the hell they survive that makes them gentle. Don't mistake their self-control for weakness. The beast in them is sleeping, not dead.

I lost my 9 year old son to cancer, and this breaks my heart. The PTSD I suffer from 15 years later is awful, but I feel blessed I could hold him. She was robbed of that. She’s going to worry the rest of her life about what his last moments were like, and feel immense guilt about not being there.
