Tumeke Studio is a Māori owned, independent R&D-driven game and systems studio building the tools and stories of tomorrow.
That's a trap. You're framing this as a "Plagiarism Tool" instead of looking at it as a communication aid. If I say "Give me a tune that sounds like Beethovens *dun dun dun dah!* meets up with Serj Tankian, am I plagiarizing. Or am I using examples to aid in understanding? MGK reference. Irony?
If this is how our team feels about AI, why are we using it? Because retreating from a space and ignoring it doesn't make a problem go away. Once Pandora's box is opened, its up to us to decide how its used. We're not checking out of this process. Doing so let's someone else tell our stories.
Sorry, if a person wants a character that’s got the eyepatch and attitude of Snake Pliskin and the wackiness of Roger Rabbit, there’s no difference whether they describe it or say it”make it something like this picture” other than your ego and your billable hours “iterating”.
We're putting a little something together to show our end of year appreciation to folks. Stay tuned. #mmorpg #scifi #storytelling #indiedev #gamedev
Indigenous game developers: Do you have a title you’d like us to share on our page? Part of our mission is raising visibility for other indigenous game devs. Let us know in the comments! #mmorpg #gamedev #indiedev #indigenous #maori
Name an MMO other than UO, Eve, or Asheron’s Call that does not use World of Warcraft gameplay mechanics, that has been released. Is that game still online today? How many unique games do folks think we will get? After 23 years, what might this suggest? #mmorpg #gamedev #videogsmes
We tried uploading one of our concept images into Grok. This was a funny result. The AI did not get the Terror Bird right at all. The birds are land bound. They can’t fly. Nice try, though. #mmorpg #ai #conceptart #indiedev #gamedev
This happened today. We have been told we must “keep our following count equal to our follower count” then they “may consider removing the label”. While we are complying with this demand, we question its validity and are concerned on how it impacts B2C relationships.
Look for indigenous games online and this is your typical list. Other than Never Alone, not one of these studios is indigenously led or owned. Why is this an important observation? We’ve added a new starter pack to help here. #indigenous #representationmatters #gamedev #videogames #native
What happens when companies become Heads of State? In the Errata version of Earth, this has happened. Check out our new dev blog! tumekestudio.com/the-age-of-s... #indiedev #gamedev #maori #indigenous #mmorpg #videogames #climatechange #newzealand
We’re publicly building an MMO from the ground up as a small bootstrapped indigenous team based in New Zealand. Sound fun? Let us know what you think! Our first steps are sharing concept art and lore drops with you while we build the back end. #gamedev #indiedev #mmorpg #videogames #native
The Bygone Era feels close to now. Distance lost its meaning, pipes and rails stacked up, and data made hard work look easy. Errata is a game that deals with global issues. Read: tumekestudio.com/news/ What fails first where you live? #GameDev #IndieDev #Worldbuilding #Climate #mmorpg

Tumeke Studio is #hiring! We're looking for 2 Co-Founders interested in company equity with a transition-to-pay on successful initial milestones. Bonus for #indigenous values and #maori knowledge. Sound like someone you know? tumekestudio.com/about/careers/ #startuplife #indiedev #startup #jobs
This #FollowFriday were showing some support to fellow #maori developers of Atutanga. #Atutanga is available now on Meta Quest, and shows a post-apocalyptic Earth from a Māori worldview. Doesn’t this look amazing? We can only hope to do as well! #vr #rpg #representationmatters #gamedev
Just a quick thank you to everyone following us so far and dropping comments. We’re really just getting started telling the story of Errata - an Earth ruined by the mistakes of modern humans as seen through indigenous eyes. Ask us questions! #followfriday #mmorpg #indigenous #maori #rpg #games
Dryrunners are Errata’s unseen backbone. Mobile Runs move water, tools, and verified know-how across hostile distances while refusing corporate rule. Whakapapa and utu shape trust. Coercion and exploitation break it. Respect earns access. #indigenousfuturism #maori #newzealand #gamedev #mmorpg

AI in Indigenous Expression: Sovereignty, Access, and Cultural Gatekeeping Gatekeeping hurts the wrong people. Indigenous creators must be allowed access, not sidelined by rhetoric. tinyurl.com/2skje2n5 #indigenousdesign #aiethics #digitalsovereignty #speculativefutures #maori #newzealand
Why do rulers cling to the aesthetics of dead empires? In Errata we design visual aesthetics around real world power techniques, telling an indigenous story through appropriation. Full read: tinyurl.com/352vzrs4 #indigenous #indiegames #worldbuilding #storytelling #maori #gamedev #MMORPG
I grew up overseas. Curious about Māori identity but disconnected. Tumeke Studio and the Errata project let me explore that—through science fiction, not nostalgia. Its important to create new stories. tumekestudio.com/the-first-ta... #maori #scifi #gamedev #indigenousfuturism #mmorpg #indiegames
