Today in @rosatvi.bsky.social’s #pride assembly 🌈 she talked about love within her family.
With an amber weather warning planned for next week, we’re putting a plan in place to keep children as cool as possible, maximising air-con areas. Please pre-apply sun-screen, wear sun-hats, bring water bottles, no layers under uniform (come to school in PE kit (white tshirt & shorts) if you wish).
We’re excited about our new catering team - Olive Dining - who start with us from Monday. Their exciting new menu is already online and look. Their vision for upgrading children’s dining experience at TVI is coming together. Children will love it!
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back today at 8:45am for the start of the Summer Term. #backtoSchool
What a great message! I think TFL should reintroduce this poster campaign! @jagohazzard.bsky.social
Absolutely spot-on advice 👇🏼 about screen time for young children from @bdsiped.bsky.social, which we’ve been advocating for many years now. Please read and share amongst our community to help spread the word 🙌🏼.
Today is the first day of British Summer Time #BST. Did you remember to put your clocks forward an hour last night? Here’s to longer lighter evenings! Yay!
It was so lovely to see the Easter Bunny at our 18th Easter Bonnet Parade today! She looked so happy waving, dancing and saying hello to everyone on our march!
What a great Dare to be Different Day it was. Every one made had a go. In assembly we thanked and celebrated the individualism and diversity within our beautiful School.
It’s still misty, which reminds me of foggy School mornings in the 1970s! But don’t worry, it’s bright, warm and sunshiny in School! ☀️🌞
Here is a Friday #headteachersupdate with my brand new #SchoolCouncil. There’s lots of message in this wee’s edition. Our Amazon wishlists are still live 👇🏼 and if you can help us in anyway, we’d be very grateful. Please carry on reading ✅ practising phonics ✅ & walking to School ✅ where you can! 🙌🏼
Spring and Term 2B are well underway! And the spring bulbs certainly know it’s time to peep out. We’ve chosen our new School Council! Next week, there’s Holi to celebrate and World Book Day too (see letters about both). Look out for my Headteachers Update video later on today!
Thames View Infants, and over 100 other Schools, are taking part in the pan-London RISE Fortnight, facilitated by the DfE in March.
I’m at the London Archives in Farringdon looking at old maps of Thames View. Here’s 2 maps that took my eye 👇🏼 1915 (our estate unbuilt, except Thames Road and River Road) and 👇🏼 1964 with our School present (actually built in 1953) but most of the estate still undeveloped. Fascinating!
I’m going to finish today, the last day before the Feb half term holiday (which marks half-way through the School year 😱) with a picture of our chickens. Despite the rain, they were treated to a home-makeover… and they look rather happy with the new design! Thanks Billy for all your help!
We’ve had a refresh of our library. Thanks to Rofiya for helping out!
Here’s my #HeadteachersUpdate, this week talking about #parkandstride to improve congestion around the streets and to make the start and end of School safer and healthier for our children!
It’s not raining again! Yay! What a great start to the last week of term. This morning we had a fire alarm drill ✅ Tomorrow is Safer Internet Day Open Day. We’re thinking about our new pupil School Council and Red Leaders! And there’s learningtogether in Tigers (Thurs) & Pandas (Fri).
This week’s #headteachersupdate is all about what to do if your child is worrying about School. Please like and share. 👀 And here’s details of @lakshmitvi.bsky.social’s Tuesday Year 1 Phonics Workshops🦉for Parents, ahead of June’s National Testing ➡️ thamesviewinfants.org/wp-content/u...
Here’s a quick extra #Headteachersupdate: this one is about developing your child’s speaking and listening skills, which is the foundation for all learning.
My Friday #headteachersupdate this week is a day earlier than usual! Please like and share! Thanks for reading with your child each evening. It’s really making a difference!
I saw this and thought it was a nice idea and good cause. Litter (and dog mess) is a blight on our hard-working and proud local community. We teach child not to drop litter at School too. I hope this campaign gets some momentum!
Another great week! Here’s my Friday #Headteachersupdate! Just 120 seconds to tell you everything!
All School kitchens get inspected regularly from the team at @lbbdcouncil.bsky.social. We got a five star food hygiene rating, which we are proud of!
Billy, our Site Manager, works hard to keep our School looking nice. Today he fixed up some bamboo and gave the book-swap a new roof!
Tomorrow morning, we welcome our Reception Families into class, as we demonstrate for you how we teach children phonics. Children learn phonics intensively everyday. It’s an important skill in the learning to read and spell process; and Yr 1 children have national tests on the subject in June.
Oooooh lovely smellies as a special thank you to the families that are invited to today’s 100% attendance assembly (1:30-2pm), for all those children that didn’t miss a single day last term. (Our next one will be after Easter, then again, before the Summer). Thank you 🤩
