We aren't Disney adults. We're WB adults. However, we consider ourselves allies of the Disney adult community.
*frustrated grunt* The X-Men character who makes fireworks' name is JUBILEE, not Jubalee. There's no 'a' in that word. There's also no 'a' in 'definitely'. Stop dropping a's where they don't belong. Folks, I try to contain it, but some of y'all make it hard to contain my inner English major.
Lola Bunny made her debut in Space Jam, in 1996. 30 years ago. Time to lay down some ground rules. Fans, stop treating her like a newbie character, stop acting like you've spotted Where's Waldo whenever you see her in something. WB, give her a definitive voice and personality already.
We learned our lesson: when it comes to art, *real art*, there's no substitute for this: 👇🏾 (FTR, that's not AI either, it's clipart.)
For context: Yesterday I posted a pro-art, anti-AI post here. Some smooth-brain thought he had us in a gotcha moment because of the below images we posted prior, shouting "Dude, you doing bloody AI!" (Yes, that's really how this Rhodes scholar worded it.) 👇🏾
Tie between Gonzo and Lips. The weirdo and the mumbler. Two characters no one gets. I'm a bit of both.
Ludwig Von Koopa. He's named after Beethoven. He has cool hair and in the Mario 3 cartoon, he was an inventor.
"It makes almost zero sense, but it's Looney Tunes, not Looney Toons". The title is a variation on Disney's Silly Symphonies, which were popular at the time. The word Toon wasn't coined until Roger Rabbit in 1988. It makes perfect sense if you bothered to learn the damn history.
I don't mind that Hasbro is doing a crossover promotional for Monopoly with The Simpsons. I *do* mind that they keep calling him Mr. Monopoly like that's his name. It isn't. He has a name: it's MILBURN PENNYBAGS. Hey Hasbro, why give your mascot a name and never use it??
@asliceofcomics.bsky.social posed the question this morning: could blocks like these work today? If so, how, and by whom? Inquiring minds want to know.
Finally! An animated movie about *people*! Not talking animals or things with human feelings. And neither one of the girls gets turned into an animal! Also, Filipinos seem to be "in" right now. Not a complaint, just an observation.
This is a fighting game, not a beat 'em up, but I'll see that and raise you Kimberly Jackson from Street Fighter 6:
No, it's Bobby Moynihan. This guy ⬇️ He also voiced King George in Pixar's Hoppers.
These so-called "publications" lost me when they called Spot from Hong Kong Phooey a dragon. I've lived on this planet 57 years, and I've never once confused a cat for a dragon. 👇 That there don't look like no dragon. 👇
Here's another pic. Yes, Hector *had* a dog, but the character himself was a human. I knew of the character and saw at least 1 of his cartoons, but a simple search could've told you that. I'm continually amazed by how many folks *have* the internet, but don't *use" the internet.
Hey, Buzzfeed: Hector Haethcote was NOT a dog! Here's a picture of Hector Heathcote. As you can see, he's not a dog at all. (more)
(sniffs) Woo! You can smell the anti-woke bullsh*t tweets on Twitter from here!
I've recently had to revise my Cartoon Cartoon short favorite list: Mouthwash Madness is my new favorite short (so far), with Buttons' Gamezone and A for Angel tied for second. Kudos to @Lisa Vandenberg for her hilarious short.
So...this is a thing that's happening. Bad Bunny is voicing a character in Toy Story 5: a slice of pizza wearing sunglasses. Separated at birth??
And now, a message for those who are hating on the upcoming Dreamworks Cocomelon movie, who hate on Cocomelon in general, and who think them boycotting this movie will make a dent:
Bibi Ramirez-Humphrey from Primos and Dee Studebaker from Zokie of Planet Ruby. Quirky. Fun. Caring. Not dead. Not bland and boringly sensible. Not nags. Not just there to deliver lessons. Not just offscreen voices with no faces. Both gone too soon.
Dulcy. I just like dragons. Dragons existing on Mobius was such a cool idea; pity the show didn't do much with it.
A character we love (we have 5) + mutual to do the same @asliceofcomics.bsky.social @nemalki.bsky.social @thegreatlukeski.bsky.social @agatha-vile.bsky.social @tonygoldmark.bsky.social
