Equal parts melancholy, horror & inspiration. I'm not sure what I expected, but this overdelivered. It doesn't shy away from the fact that she lives in Superman's shadow but also shows how Supergirl is a vital character with unique stories beyond just "Superman but a girl." #booksky #booksky2026
I've reached the point where I have enough Commander decks that I often find I get a little decision paralysis when it comes time to choose which one to play. So, to sidestep that, I've made a "Deck of Decks." Now I can just shuffle that, draw one and play the resulting deck. #mtgcommander #mtg
My second event was Secret Lair sealed, with two Secret Lairs and 4 Marvel packs. Ended up with a white-blue-black pile of cards that held its own but went 1-2 overall. First time playing with Marvel paper cards and UB-misgivings aside, some of the mechanics and cards seem really fun. 2/2
Played 2 events at the #Commandfest in Tacoma, yesterday. First one was Full Set Sealed. I got Adventures in the Forgotten Realms and ill-advisedly decided to do 5-color dragons, using Tiamat and all the Mythic & Rare dragons, plus a lot of treasures. Not surprisingly, this went 0-2 (and a bye). 1/2
Why aren't people giving him his participation trophy for the "fantastic job" he did?!
We don't usually see each others headers, but here's mine. Quote post with yours (if you feel like it). I made this on a whim, when I got obsessed with the idea of "what would the Fast & Furious franchise feel like from the cars perspective. It still bemuses me.
Today is a Historic Day. It marks the 10year anniversary of Trump posting a photo of a D-Day training session to commemorate D-Day. #DDay.
Made this image back in 2019, wishing that I could run something akin to the old Windows disk defragmenter on my personal life. Still resonates.
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. I enjoyed this, but wanted to like it more than I did. Something about the storytelling felt like it was over-eager to get to the reward without the ordeal... if that makes sense. Still, it was a light, fun easy read with some clever parts. #booksky #booksky2026
Goblins doin' their goblin thing! Managed to make over 100 goblins in the decks first game. Seems to be working.
It actually brings me a surprising amount of joy to be running some beat-up old cards, like the ones pictured, in this deck. Feels suitably goblinesque.
Fine. If @magic.wizards.com and @mtgsecretlair.com don't want to sell me a Goblin Storm deck, I guess I'll have to make one with cards I already own. Save myself $150 and play with some cards that I was previously neglecting. Win-win ...for me at least. WotC loses out a sale, of course.
Moving this over from the Bad Place, since it's probably the most important piece of Science I've ever produced. #ThunderRoad
Still pretty much the only Universes Beyond that I want to see for Magic the Gathering. #magicthegathering #universesbeyond #mtg #twinpeaks
Someday, I will get through the morning news without wanting to do this... but that day is not today.
Energy vampire just out there explaining why not having any energy left is a good sign for the economy.
Apparently, it's #CrowandRavenAppreciationDay! So, here's a couple for the mix. One inspired by Minneapolis. One just pulled from my sketchbook.
