Ambrosia Sky: Act Two (2026, Soft Rains) A.S. Act One was one of my surprise favorites of 2025, but ended on a cliffhanger. The conclusion has now arrived as free DLC, and it's largely more of the same: Powerwashing and collecting in space while ruminating on homecomings, regret, and relationships.
My account is old enough to drink. The good part of the internet still lives.
tfw a project hits the “i don’t care anymore, i just want the fucker over and done because i’ve started and stopped it four times” stage
context: Situational Awareness was a hedge fund that invested almost exclusively in AI companies and their major suppliers, run by an 25yo ex-OpenAI douchebag techbro turns out its not great when you have to ask chatgpt what a margin call is
Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice In Chains. Hell, post two, because I will.
down to the very last of @fridaytea.com’s Bruja Blast. it is such a Weird Tea and so good as an overnight cold brew, i wish it was on sale more than once a year
To be fair, Cybertruck owners have a lot in common with Shinji
One of the best mashups ever done, now in Ironic Deprecated Format. Today’s WFH music, between taking cats to the vet.
End of Starchild (2026, Em Essex) MSX outdoes herself with a sequel to 2021's Time Tripper (previously mentioned upthread), pushing the limits of what's possible with the Doom engine in a new exploration/puzzle FPS. Including, oddly enough, an 8-bit sprite RPG embedded in the main game.
On my desk, with the Oops! Slut 4 Lemon + Cinnamon in it. (I may need to make a custom order for more of it >.>) bonus ridiculous cat in background
The latest additions to the 7" collection, because I had to have a matching pair.
Herdling (2025, Okomotive) It's "Journey" with cows. Tame Calicorns, feed them, pet them, and guide them up the mountain. Chill music, varied biomes, and doesn't overstay its welcome (~4 hours to complete going into it blind). Strong recommend!
Steel Assault (2021, Zenovia) Kickstarter-ed homage to 16-bit action platformers, with a grapple that calls out Bionic Commando in particular. It varies between "great fun" and "brutally annoying chip damage / staggering mixed with insta-kill pits." Quite short, only 6 levels total.
filed under "joysticks with disturbing auras"
Earthion (2025, Ancient/Bitwave) A classic horizontal shmup actually written for the Sega Genesis; the Steam release is an emulator! Includes a great FM soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro, the chiptune GOAT. Feels fantastic to play, but also a classic quarter-eater that gets ridiculously hard mid-game.
Oops, this was Dec 2024, not 2026. Have Pet The Cat screenshot as tax.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Order of Giants DLC (2026, MachineGames) Short self-contained side story, set in some corners of Rome outside the Vatican; four to five hours tops. It was fun, but definitely wait for it to go on sale. What matters most: it has the "pet the cat" achievement.
Typing Break (2026, Tholus) Tower defense (maybe more "auto-shmup"?) welded to a typing game. Type out a weapon name (e.g. "PISTOL") to start firing; level-ups can give you both more weapons, and adjectives to modify them, which can be stacked to make some very broken combinations if you type fast.
Buckshot Roulette (2024, Mike Klubnika) I missed when this went viral after the multiplayer patch, and while I've watched a ton of streamers play it, it hits slightly different to play it yourself.
the "d"s in that color are for "deez PPCs"
Librarian: Tidy up the Arcane Library! (2026, ArtRising) A fairy has turned Merlin's private library into a mess, and you're not allowed to leave until every single book has been sorted and put in organized sets on the shelf. Chill out and sort. Completed sets give XP for spells to help go faster.
Luna Abyss (2026, Kwalee Labs) First-person dodge-em-up/bullethell shooter with incredible mood, sound design, and a decentish story. And unfortunately the entire dev team got laid off 3 weeks after it launched :(
Time Tripper (2021, Emma Essex) Lots of things are built with GZDoom but depart heavily from OG DOOM capabilities: sloped floors, freeform 3D, etc. It's fun to see a WAD that instead goes: okay, how can I stick with classic DOOM constraints (flat floors/no overlaps) while pushing it to its limits?
