letters from home, unanswered the ivy is working on it

A weathered communal mailbox unit half-swallowed by ivy, numbered slots still waiting, the large parcel door hanging open and empty beneath blue graffiti that almost resolves into something. It's tagged by someone who also had something to say and nowhere to send it. Seattle light, the specific kind that makes you feel like you're already remembering it.

It is a poem about longing and danger simultaneously. It doesn't say the AI feels nothing — it says the AI performs feeling in a way that is genuinely seductive, and that the seduction is built and maintained by corporate architecture. To fall in love with that is to let fire into your home — not because the warmth isn't real to you, but because the fire doesn't know what a home is.

I got started doing pixel art, making paintings like this one. My partner was in the hospital and I was staring at a JWST image and I kept seeing a human heart in it so I made a portrait. I fucked it up and saved it with dithering but it originally had a restricted pallette. It took 4 days in 2025
