The European Master for High Performance Computing (@eumaster4hpc.bsky.social) is expanding to integrate #AI and #QuantumComputing! For EU students with a STEM bachelor degree, applications are open until 15 August 2026. Find out more and apply: www.uni.lu/en/news/euro...
Anupam Sengupta has been named the next Head of the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Luxembourg, starting 1 October. His ERC (@erc.europa.eu) project studies how bacteria control light, work tied to cancer research and sustainable materials. #uni_lu #Research
Behind the project: the SIGCOM group at #uni_lu's SnT, one of the world's largest research groups dedicated to satellite communications. It is also one of the first projects of the Cyber Research Hub, the partnership between the Luxembourg Directorate of Defence (@defense.gouv.lu) & the University.
The University of Luxembourg is working to close these gaps. In a new project with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), our researchers will create an #AI model that continuously adapts to novel jamming technology, operating from ground stations inside NATO allied territories.
Can quantum be sustainable? Experts discussed smarter space systems, energy-efficient computing and quantum-safe infrastructure at the 2nd Quantum & AI Breakfast of 2026. Full write-up: https://www.uni.lu/snt-en/news/sustainable-digital-future/ #QuantumAtUniLu
Congratulations to Prof. Alexandre Tkatchenko on an ERC Proof of Concept Grant! His project BATMAT is building a machine-learning platform to screen the materials for next-generation batteries around 100 times faster than today's methods, before a sample is made in a lab. @erc.europa.eu #ERCPoC
🗓️ Wed 8 July, 08.30–11.30 📍 Belval, Maison des Arts et des Étudiants 🎟 Free, register by 3 July Embedded within the HPC Continuum Conference. Second of five mornings in 2026. Health, Cybersecurity, Space to follow. www.uni.lu/fstm-en/even...
Two talks anchor the morning: → Miguel Olivares Mendez (Uni.lu): Sustainability in Space → Jean Senellart (Quandela): Quantum, AI, and the future cost of compute, framing quantum as a new pillar of the HPC continuum Round table + closing by Rector Jens Kreisel. #uni_lu
Two weeks ago, we closed the first Quantum & AI Breakfast on a line that stayed with us: "AI is improving the engine. Quantum is beginning to redesign the road." On 8 July, we turn to #sustainability. 🧵
Why do children lose their love of nature the moment they start school? Can AI make a better physics tutor? Can comics teach science better than textbooks? These are the questions being tackled this week on our Belval campus. #ScienceEducation
#AI is improving the engine. Quantum is beginning to redesign the road. Three things from the first Quantum & AI Breakfast of 2026: → AI in logistics is business transformation, not software → The hard part is the data, not the algorithm → Adoption depends on trust 🧵 #QuantumAtUniLu
🎉 On Luxembourg's National Day, congratulations to our Prof. Massimiliano Esposito on his ERC Advanced Grant! His project EOS asks how the principles of life emerge from physics and chemistry. Fittingly, Eos is the Greek goddess of the dawn. @erc.europa.eu #ERCAdG www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...
57% of people can't name a single great-grandparent. Archive My Legacy, a University of Luxembourg startup, uses AI to turn scattered family photos and memories into one connected story, so you stop flipping through pictures and start reading lives. www.uni.lu/en/news/arch... #ArchiveMyLegacy
Dean Pascal Bouvry closes the first Quantum & AI Breakfast of 2026. Three hours, four speakers, one round table, one full room. Next stop: 8 July, Quantum, AI & Sustainability at Belval, alongside the HPC Continuum Conference. quantum.uni.lu
Round table now. All four on stage: Lucas Fernandez (CHAMP Cargosystems), Daniel Kohl (Cluster for Logistics), Prof. Mantin (uni.lu), Reinhard Plaza Bartsch (Vodafone). Academia, cluster, software, operator. Four lenses, one table.
Rare to see this level of strategic transparency from a global operator. Vodafone's logistics evolution, per Reinhard Plaza Bartsch: 1.0 (FY19): inventory management 2.0 (FY22): demand & supply 3.0 (FY26): EU hub & spoke 4.0 (FY27-30): logistics as a service
A line that quietly reframes the whole talk: "AI cannot scale without a robust, reliable supply chain of its own." Prof. Mantin walks through it: rare earths, lithium, data centres, power. The discipline studying AI is also one AI now depends on.
Up next: Benny Mantin, Professor in Supply Chain Management at the University of Luxembourg. His topic: how #quantum and #AI will reshape #logistics, and where we already are on that road.
Closing on a strong line: "Quantum and AI are not technologies. They are the canvas on which we will paint the logistics systems of tomorrow." Four pillars for that future: sustainable, specialised, intelligent, resilient.
First on stage: Daniel Kohl, Director of Cluster for Logistics #Luxembourg. "Technology does not transform industries. People do." The #logistics professional of tomorrow: data-literate, sustainability-fluent, digitally empowered, AI-augmented, quantum-ready.
Live from the Chamber of Commerce. The first Quantum & AI Breakfast of 2026 has just opened with a packed room and good coffee. Two talks, one round table, all wrapped before 11.00. 🧵 #Luxembourg #Quantum #AI | @ccluxembourg.bsky.social
What can a river's tiniest life reveal about a whole region's health? @embl.org and partners, including our Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), have launched a pilot project on the Moselle to study how microbial life responds to human pressure on the environment. 🦠💧
🌱 Powering a greener future, now official. The Luxembourg Hydrogen Valley (LuxHyVal) has reached a defining milestone: Enovos has taken its final investment decision, officially launching the project's implementation phase. 🧵
How do you educate people for a future no one can predict? Our Rector Jens Kreisel takes it on with Lisa Burke (@lisatb.bsky.social) on RTL Today (@todayradiobyrtl.bsky.social) Today: critical thinking and learning how to learn outlast whatever AI does next. Watch 👇 youtu.be/QUv3SYZm9Uc?...
Are we ready for the green transition? In 5 days, #UniverCITYTalks brings together research and industry voices to discuss emissions, energy affordability, hydrogen, renewables, smart systems and #Luxembourg’s energy future. 🔗 https://www.uni.lu/en/events/univercity-talks-green-transition/
One week to go. #AI Café Competition Final, Tuesday 9 June at Cercle Cité, #Luxembourg. Eight teams pitch AI projects live, and the audience holds half the vote alongside the jury. Show up, help decide. Free entry, registration needed. www.uni.lu/en/events/ai... #uni_lu
