Aka Ruth Blackett. Aka, far too many internet pseudonyms. Aka onions. I want to see your unusual postboxes.
Saw a sparrowhawk (I think) hunting in its natural habitat (the seaside adventure golf course). I took a superb photo (my best yet!).
QP 27 - Yes that's right, it's a two quarter peal day! This was rather enjoyable, and the pint beside the Dee afterwards was a lovely way to celebrate.
Quarter 26: Back on the baby bells. This went mostly ok but as the treble I struggled with the shift to plain bob after the Kent and kept trying to dodge anyway.
If I was in heaven and my stupid children decided to bring me back to earth I'd bloody kill them.
QUARTER 25: Halfway to my 2026 target. Wirral's heaviest bells, with Wirral's sweatiest band. The pub afterwards was well-deserved. Also my first trebling to a surprise major method.
What's worse than ringing a quarter? Listening to one and hoping it doesn't fall apart.
I've only gone and rung my first peal! I've been so nervous about it and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done but we got it!!
QP24...it turns out I *do* remember Grandsire. This was once again, rather pleasant. Still not comfortable with Stedman though, sorry Fabian.
Good news for anyone who's been searching for a camping mattress that has souppot and which also caters for those moments of existential dread.
A little bit of practice ringing on higher numbers for me this afternoon. Tried some Kent, Stedman and Grandsire (with a stander behind).
QP23 - I think the best quarters are the ones that aren't planned, where you turn up to practice and there's just the right amount of people to give it a go. This one was more consolidation of my trebling.
Quarter 22 went very nicely. My ropesight is so much improved since last year. The only issue today was the not insubstantial quantity of masonry dust that showered upon me as I rang.
