Hortorium Days

this was an early concept from what eventually became the comic i just posted. knew i wanted to do something with the minfilias and "one life for one world" but wasnt sure how i wanted to compose it

a blotchy and eerily lit portrait of minfilia fading into darkness. the half of her face in shadow looks afraid; the half in the Light looks both more serene and more corpse-like, with a glowing pupil to match her Word of the Mother incarnation

there is text overlaid "Do you think that's what She told Minfilia?"

the wol stands at the edge of that arena, an upside-down silhouette against the sky with only his broadsword distinct from his body. hades' feathers flank him as the panel recedes to stars

rynes hair, blonde and orange, mixes with the cut ribbon; both give way to the mauve crystals of hades' final transformation, which looms over the arena of his boss fight in the final gasp

the incarnations, words, and symbols continue from above, culminating in Ryne cutting a lock of her hair alongside the pink ribbon. she wears a fierce expression even as she flinches away from the light, and she wields her signature Fatebreaker dagger(s)

fun bonus fact: that last Minfilia before ryne was designed to resemble buffy summers in "prophecy girl"

overexposed

panel one: a person stands lightly grasping an egg in a carton, thinking "uh oh this egg seems kind of stuck in the carton. probably cracked but I'll make sure"
panel two: closeup on the hand wiggling the egg
panel three: the hand lifts up the egg (shell) and all of the egg goop is pouring out because the bottom of the shell just came off and stayed in the carton??? person says "okay"
