There's nothing quite like receiving a contributor's copy... Needless to say, I'm delighted to see my name on the cover. "Sleepless" is my 64th published short story. Big thanks go to editors Gene Rowe and Rick Danforth for selecting it for publication.
Here's a photo of my contributor's copy of The Growers, all 390+ pages of it. That's a lot of excellent themed fiction and poetry in one volume, including my short story Wheat Futures. My thanks go to Scott T. Barnes and the New Myths team for making this possible. www.amazon.com/Growers-Best...
The photo below shows the printed version (in French) of my short story "Those We Leave Behind" in Galaxies #89.
One of the pleasures of being a published author is receiving your work in printed form. Issue 1 of Roads Less Travelled, which includes my science fantasy story Growing Up, is a handsome piece of work by editor/publisher Trevor Denyer. Please buy it! www.amazon.co.uk/ROADS-LESS.....
"What a wonderful and inspiring alternative to the so-called 'world-building' of today's science fiction industry. Here are some real lessons on how to speculate in ways that may actually open new potentials for human flourishing." Douglas Rushkoff. (Easter launch at Levitation 2024. A story by me!)
I enjoyed a small but perfectly formed "published writer" moment while attending the Missing Believed Wiped event at the British Film Institute yesterday . One row in front of me a man sat reading this book, which has my name on the cover. 😀 (No photo of the reader. That would have been rude.)
