LLMs have a pointing finger problem. When pushed back with a convincing example, the example is examined and served (pointing finger), but there is no work on what it points to (the moon) unless a heavy skill guides it; even then, it often shifts to a second moon-like pointing finger.
LLM-generated prose overuses certain words for transitions, pivots, contrast, and summarization. Recent studies have confirmed that, compared to human texts, generated prose overexplains. 🧵
