Lovely bookstore, and cosy corner for reading. Books are treasures. I like the idea in your earlier post of researching what happened to books during wars. But in the worst or the best of times, there are inventive ways to keep them, and stimulate dissemination. 📚💙💛
Enjoy a well deserved rest, Yaroslava. The place you are at, is certainly inviting, and offers a generous choice, it seems. I photographed this beauty at an exhibition a few days ago. When it comes to books (old or new), one is never done. A bit like the visit of a place one thinks to know. 😉
Wow, beautiful landscape! The surroundings seem to be screaming for water though. Thank you for sharing this lovely image. I found this down South. Vignobles et champs de tournesols partout! 😊
A detail, especially for you. They say the devil is in the detail, but here the angels were! 😉 🪽
Yaroslava, you captured this history and architecture beautifully. That with the ceramic pots in the walls and vaults is new to me, but during our brief holiday in France, my daughter and I tested singing in this chapel and in a romanesque abbey church - it was mesmerizing. 1/2
Oh Yara, this is the ages talking to us. Worn, but if the walls could tell us about their experiences... This is a dreamy place, where contemporary living on the upper floor meets history. The mural speaks too. The old door, the windows, the woodwork. I love places like this! 💙💛
Hello Yaroslava. Thank you for your persistence to tell us about Ukraine, and her (his)story. 💙💛 It was heartwarming and an honour to have Ukrainian presence at the military parade of Belgium's National Holiday in Brussels today. 🇧🇪🤝🇺🇦
I'm plowing through this one at the moment. Fascinating read, but populated by so many characters that one has to read with some concentration.
Something against boredom; reading history... 😉 For company, here is a miniature from 1458 depicting a scene where Philip the Good forgives the people of Ghent after an uprising. Enjoy the tea, croissant, and gentle thoughts as you sweep across the country to Lviv. 🤗💙💛
Lovely posts again today, Yaroslava, thank you. Sending you some of our sunset here tonight. 💙💛
A wonderful post of solidarity, Florence. 🙏 There is still a thing or two we can be proud of in "the West", not least of which is our agency to help those protecting the values our forefathers fought for. We can honour and help those same efforts today. 💪🫂💙💛
show you. Here it is together with little chandeliers, especially for you. 😉
Thank you, Yaroslava, for taking us to this beautiful sacred place. It was painful seeing the damage of the roof, but the place is so stunning. I hope we can take a walk there together someday. You pointed out a precious door. It reminded of a little gate I've been waiting to 1/
I like Kurkov's writing. Astonishing how after everything that's happened, the ru spelling of city names still persists in different media, books included. My warcoffee is quick today; my daughter's compass (to draw circles for math exam on Monday) just broke. Need to find another one... 🥴👋
Something on my path yesterday that reminded me of the beauty of life, and of those colours. 💙💛
Oleksii Stepanov made a poignant piece of art, very symbolic of the shield that Ukraine is. Here is a little symbolic Ukrainian - Belgian friendship corner in my house. 💙💛
Thank you, Yaroslava. Not roses, but here are some colours from a few days ago for you... 💙💛
Thank you, Carol! I love this flower, as I do the Flemish painter (Emile Claus) who painted them gorgeously in my view. 🌸
A flower that was waiting for me on my walk a few days ago. You see lines and creases, but it stands tall. Now I share it with you for that unbreakable Ukrainian spirit. 🫂💙💛
I was only able to join late but it was lovely seeing you at the Book Festival today, Yaroslava. Thank you for taking us there! Meanwhile, some sky and clouds from here. 🤗💙💛
A lot of Ukraine's history is hidden and unrecognized so I think it is good you try to unearth it. Meanwhile, a little something I truly believe in: Ukrainian spring returns. 🫂💙💛
I think more birds will be flying to the East - I'll drink to that until peace comes. In the past few days I read a book revealing some of the history in streets I walk in 80+ years later. It renders quiet knowing that sounds then were, although very different from drones, 1/
Dear Yaroslava, thank you for these lovely flowers. 💐 Sending you and warcoffee a sunny flower, with especially warm wishes for a wonderful Mother's Day. 🤗💙💛
Lovely thought on this Day of Remembrance. Light always finds a way. Up to us to see it, believe it, be it, or find our way towards it. 🕯️🕊️
Afternoon dear Yaroslava, sending you greetings after lunch with a dear Ukrainian friend. Love the colours of Kyiv. 🌸 I hope you have a lovely afternoon exploring and revelling in the beauty, culture, history and life that comes on your path today. Meanwhile, some flowers for you from here. 🫂💙💛
With such wind it is better looking outside from inside. I see Victory is watching the weather elements closely. Just as sunny here today as in this photograph. I hope you and warcoffee friends have a gentle Sunday. 💙💛
There are no words for these heinous crimes. Holding you and everyone in these attacks close and 🙏that everyone comes from under the rubble alive. The colours scattered on this floor are a sign of where my thoughts are. 💙💛
