Today I'm celebrating my dog's 7th birthday 🥳❤️🎉 I am grateful for every day that I get to walk next to Lady A, & always chuckle when the wind blows her pinnas upright. We jokingly call it her best German Shepherd Dog impression 😅 Feel free to share your pets in the comments, I'd love to see them!

Every single day that I'm out and about! This was my first time wearing a Drager. A good friend gave me a couple to try as they weren't a good fit for her face. It did fit me well, but my fav n95 so far is the Aura!

I'm also a huge fan of Auras, and am frequently the only one masking. But when picking up my grocery order yesterday, the worker was wearing a surgical mask (I offered them a kn95 and an Aura after briefly explaining the better protection). They took them both!!!

I was driving home today and saw one of our fav food trucks by a busy outdoor park/playground, so decided to grab a latte & support them. The number of adults and children with horrendous coughs made me think 'Thank goodness for my Aura' while I waited for my order.

September marks Animal Pain Awareness Month. While acute pain is often evident and distressing, chronic pain can be subtle and overlooked. Pet owners may attribute their animals' changes to "getting old" or "slowing down" when, in fact, they are experiencing untreated pain.

Commonly overlooked signs of pain in cats: hesitation jumping, house soiling, decreased grooming, changes in play style, sleeping habits change, temperament change.

Remember that every single part of a lily is exceptionally toxic for cats. Do NOT bring lilies into your home if you have a cat.

A meme titled lilies are poisonous to cats. It lists how the pollen, petals, leaf, stem, and even the water the lily is in are poisonous to cats.
What to do: if you suspect your cat has come in contact with lilies seek veterinary care immediately. Early treatment is crucial.
Symptoms often include vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, dehydration, tremors, or seizures.
If you have a cat never allow lilies into your home.

In the world of vet med, February is dental health month! For more information on how dental disease forms, what appropriate treatment is, and what's best at slowing down dental disease see the links to my dental series in the comments!

Info from the AVMA on what you need to know about pet dental health. 1. Routine dental cleanings help prevent disease and detect hidden problems. 2. 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have periodontal disease by age 3. Prevention costs 1/3 as much as treating dental disease. 4. Proper nutrition+ tooth brushing + regular checkups/cleanings = oral health. 5. Left untreated, dental disease can damage internal organs.
