A lot of Mundainian commerce involves some fairy tale bullshit happening and someone else going “how can I profit from this”.
The lad was a fiend, a stint as a Dairygirl will do him good. In the old days they called it “character building”.
He’s wearing pretty standard wizard gear but yeah he’s particularly cute.
In mechanical terms, the Can’t Cum Cock Ring makes you receive no benefits from Sex, but sets your Refractory Period to Zero, meaning you can literally plough your way through a dungeon. Although the second you take it off all those un-had orgasms catch up to you, of course.
Yep, even the Giants can become corrupted by Mundain’s Thaumaturgic Determinism. This is your typical Giant. Talkative, cool-headed, reasonable, occasionally eats someone. An Aint She is taller, silent, and treats Kin like interesting insects, shooing away the pretty ones and squishing others.
When a Giant walks through symmetrical hills (known as tiddy mounds) they become corrupted by the Fae, becoming an Aint She. While beautiful from a distance, they are terrifying up close. Dragons are - for reasons they won’t say - terrified of them, earning them the name The Good Neighbours.
The thing about death in Mundain is it’s both easily cured with enough money, and relatively welcoming. Eventually, the New Goddess of death will come around and show you her latest batch of afterlives. Dying is for poor people. Kind’a grim, but it makes sense.
If anyone asks I drew it like this so the arachnophobics don’t get jumpscared while reading the book. In reality it’s so I didn’t have to look at reference photos of bloody tarantulas for six hours.
While a human’s brain catches up to a problem a few seconds after their gut instinct, with orcs it’s more like a few minutes. This is why they’re dangerous in numbers, their logic centres don’t have time to process what their impulse drives are doing, namely encouraging each other to drink & fight.
(For those a little squeamish around non-con stuff, there’s a significant loophole in the magic choker our Otherling bad guy didn’t notice)
Hey guys, currently I've got 20 Magic Items in pre-prepared treasure chests as you can see, so I'm opening the floor for suggestions on 80 more individual magic items for the PDF. Bonus points for being parodies of D&D items (such as the Immovable Cock) or notable fairy tail references.
Need some GM opinions for this approach to Loot Tables, I'm thinkin' of doing a few pre-made treasure chests a GM can just chuck into their game, a few bits of gear and a magic item. There'll be a list of lone magic items after a couple pages of these.
An additional page of NPCs. Personally a big fan of Rummage, local trash goblin that occasionally finds murder weapons and magical artefacts, and Pickets-and-Pockets, who protests about workers rights then nicks stuff while they aren't looking.
Halfway through the NPCs chapter. Half-considering crowdsourcing the rest because shit is difficult. "I better add some pre-made stuff" is the reason this project is taking as long as it is. I think it'll be worth it though, anything that adds to the vibes and flavour of a GM's toolkit usually is.
Look at that subtle off-white colouring. The tasteful thickness of them.
Coincidentally I am drawing Salt waddling around a bathhouse at this moment.
There aren’t as many darker skinned Alloyans since there aren’t any Dwarf elevators east of the Pearl Necklace. But they are glorious.
Last splash page of the book, for the Loot Table & Magic Items chapter.
It’s a misconception that vampires use their long lives to earn the wealth and prestige required to live in a castle. In fact, castles are built around new vampires, by loyal and protective gargoyles. This one works in a chip shop.
As we all know, 90% of an Assassin’s duties involve going to get snacks and avoiding bogarting any current smokeables.
I think my bad maths just made Garden Gnomes the deadliest creatures in Mundain. ...I think I'm gonna keep it that way. I think if your first instinct is to swing at a tiny gardener, you gotta expect to get mobbed by a dozen of 'em.
