I got a mocktail version at an outdoor jazz festival in Belgium. It looks a bit like an ultra healthy smoothie but it was delicious & refreshing on a hot day.

My @peculiarityshop.bsky.social hoard (aka Dragon’s Den mystery box) arrived & it’s gorgeous!! They all fit different moods & I will so enjoy wearing them. Thank you to the fabulous creators!

After BTS in Brussels, I went to Ghent, where the #GentJazz festival was happening! I hadn’t known that until I got to Belgium, but happily I got to see Lakecia Benjamin, Stanley Clarke, & the Terence Blanchard/Ravi Coltrane tribute to Miles Davis & John Coltrane. A great music (& food) week. 3/3

Most of the reason I went to Belgium last week was because my friend had an extra #BTS #Arirang concert ticket. My intro to k-pop was spectacular. I have absolutely become a fan. And people are so generous with their maker skills. I got handed posters, keychains, cards with lyrics. It was great! 2/3

I went to Belgium last week & had a great time. I spent an afternoon at the Museum of Musical Instruments. I was there ~12 years ago & regretted not getting the audio tour (I was on a shoestring budget). Now the audio (& some video) are included! 1/3

A trumpet/trombone like instrument with 7 horns. Composers wrote music for this! But apparently the fingering was really difficult & it didn’t catch on. Trombonists preferred their slide.

More insights from #ATIA2026 coming as I gather my thoughts now that I’m home, but I went to Maker Day yesterday & made this gorgeous fidget spinner!

Directions for making the fidget spinner in the first photo. Ingredients: CD, marble, bottle cap. Tools: glue gun, cup. Step 1: place CD shiny side down on the cup. 2: put marble in the hole in the center of the CD & glue it in place. 3: Turn CD over, position on cup, & glue bottle cap covering marble. 4: Remove spinner from cup, grasp bottle cap & spin!

My @peculiarityshop.bsky.social mystery box arrived! Each time I get one I think- this is amazing, nothing can top this. And yet look what these makers have done from prompts about my favorite colors, oak trees, & passionflowers. I adore this. Thank you! 🥰🥰

My favorite recent Bowie photos- I mentioned that a friend told me about a cat who liked to hang out in the bathtub & play with the water. Bowie was horrified and after clearly telling me to keep that information to myself went into hiding mode. #NoBathsForThisCat #ProofOfCat #Caturday
