My first test of Opus 5 was asking how I would air fry korean mung bean cake. I love the taste but it is super hot here now and a bit hellish frying all the batter. Pretty good! It needs a more savory dipping sauce, since the taste of the ingredients doesn't get as infused as it does when pan-fried.
Do you think this squirrel is extra cute or no. Not sure if they’re affectionate or just pure opportunistic. I think they dig holes in my small planter with eggplant. Not sure why
I’m exhausted but this brings me happiness. have appointment w autism doctor for older soon. I came across ppl mocking others for trying to learn science w LLMs. I think it’s arrogance assuming how/why ppl use them. no empathy, just glibness. I think though they work best alongside curriculum.
Fun times calling AWS support for this bug. I was one of the lucky recipients of the heart attack.
I worked on sentence strip with my new update of ConnectTalk (waiting for review) using photos generated with Gemini. Some verbs are better done with videos so had Gemini generate videos. Sometimes photos morph but close enough to original that my son got it. He also enjoyed looking at familiar ppl
I cleaned up the prime factorization page a bit. I am experimenting with music and my son thought this royalty free funk music was a bit too much for this app lol.
I'm bringing my first app back. It was my final project at bootcamp and it was made for iPad. I know it's not perfect but I'm still fond of the custom animation I did along with music I played on keyboard from listening to orchestral version of it.
Yikes, I signed up for speech club to improve my and my younger son's communication skills but speeches take a long time to prepare .. This is my intro. It was fun researching history and origins of these foods and piecing them together with my childhood memories
I know this essay is assigned a lot in schools but first time reading it. My younger son is taking an essay writing course and teacher recommended it. I found it very moving
Son did 5k I did 1 mile. I finished behind some 5-6 year olds and neck to neck with guy with baby in carrier
I saw this bird on Instagram and I thought it was the most beautiful bird I have ever seen. does everyone hit a stage where they start to notice birds and little squirrels and wanting to be plant parent? (Despite no green thumb)
Son wanted a break from studies and go kayaking. It was a good idea. Good workout and great way to get some air. I think I need to improve my form. Being paranoid, I asked how many get hit by boats and guy deadpanned “only three this month”.
M pretty happy w it for my son. I will just add his icons in the descriptions
This is one I made for older son’s hike and it worked beautifully and it didn’t need much prompting, ChatGPT made it beautifully
We went to Bryce Canyon for their annual astronomy festival and heard three nights of talks from a planetarium astronomer, a JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) instrument scientist, and a NASA astrophysicist. Lectures for everyone in outdoor amphitheater with brilliant night skies.
Well, my visual schedule app was very good in getting him through lunch, avoiding the cookies at the counter. But chocolate store was something else. One thing slightly sus was that ChatGPT knew I was wearing a backpack. I never mentioned it. Pretty impressive comic strips though lol
This looks like an interesting topic. I wonder about how research resources are allocated - general functioning of the brain vs certain identified pathologies. How two bodies of research inform each other. Tbh I wish I understood more when I listen to podcasts like this
What does it take to become an airline pilot? In the latest episode of Learning to Work, @danoleary.me talks about starting to fly at 14, surviving three engine failures, and what the job is really like after 26 years. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s... open.spotify.com/episode/6E5E...
My life highlight right now now. Kids r so talented. They made the costumes themselves!
these are amazing recordings. Love Sarah Vaughan. I went to violin recital last week and heard the violinist from Apple Music link. Both artists perform w deep feeling, tonal colors and timing that’s hard to describe music.apple.com/us/album/vio...
This is cute and clever. We went for walk at the beach and ran into a book fair. fantasy, sci fi, romance. I met an author who writes stories for Insomniacs. I went to look him up on Amazon and saw that it’s an entire genre. But mostly like horror or other kind of night stories. his were wholesome.
Reading Golding’s biography, I’m really struck by his poetry he wrote as a child. Not just this, but there are descriptions of his love of nature and his connection to it. I thought about my non-verbal son and how he is happy on swing staring at the horizon. How he appreciates winds and just being.
I found this funny from Golding’s biography - On his mother telling him ghost stories. Kind of an origin story of a writer. Incredible since he kept a diary for 22 years
I really love this usage of Nano Banana. We took a paragraph we had a hard time visualizing, sometimes we kind of zone out when physical description gets a bit involved.
Here is the second image we got using Nano Banana for a scene we had trouble visualizing from "Lord of the Flies". If someone is not familiar w English choir school traditions, this might be hard to visualize. I read this book in my teens and it's completely different now. Life and motherhood.
